also consider... the bible was written in order to keep a somewhat small society in check by rule of god and threatening of eternal damnation. the people who wrote this book of stories and tales no doubt could not have ever imagined the world would evolve to contain billions of people who use these stories to justify outrageous acts and outright control over society.

it is unfortunate that people are trained to believe in this system from infancy and are basically given no choice but to follow suit.

hmmm... is it possible to believe in evolution and god? Yes, I do believe that there is a higher power but I also believe in evolution in that we descended from apes.

Yes, it's quite possible. Many creationists who believe that God initiated creation also believe to varying degrees that his creation has evolved since the beginning of time.

No, it's not contradicting itself. God's "original"purpose of mankind enjoying a perfect earth hasn't changed just because the 1st human pair sinned. (after all if they hadn't sinned. . .where would we be now? . .)
The resurrection is for dead ones to live on earth in the environment it was supposed to be in the first place. That would encompass both the resurrection and salvation.

Imagine if instead of going to church praying for a better world everyone volunteered for an hour a week, now that would actually make the world a better place!!! Imagine if science had not been oppressed by religion for hundreds of years how much further along we would be!
