A short while ago I was snuggled on the sofa with our 4-month old Jenny as usual in our long quiet mornings, when she went to stretch or turn, she suddenly sat bolt upright and just stared into our diningroom! Nothing I did (tried to snuggle her back down, hold her head to talk to her...) stopped her from just staring, watching and moving as if she was tracking something. I asked her if someone was visiting, and that if they were here, could they move to the other side of the room and (hold onto your knickers!), in a few moments she moved her head to the other side of the room!!!!

That only lasted for perhaps a few seconds, then she returned to staring at the exact same spot she had been before! This lasted for over 10minutes!! I'm alone in the house this morning since DH stayed at our DD's house since she and her hubby are in Toronto for the weekend and we're babysitting our grandson (and I have to be here overnight for Jenny)....and I don't mind telling you, it was spooky!
Do your pets do this? Why, I wonder...has anyone seen or heard any research on the subject? I assumed it was my Mom, since she's visited us as a family before, so I chatted with her, but.....it certainly raises a lot of questions, doesn't it?This thread is currently associated with: N/A

They all do, and there is a lot of research on pets being able to see visitors that we can't

Hey Lynn you should watch The Haunted on Animal Planet. They do say animals have a higher sense of spirits compared to Humans. My cats will look at the walls or corners and start meowing it usually happens in the Dinning Room. Since we live steps away from family cemetary yep I sometimes wonder. Last week was the most spooky thing that happened my son was in the shower me and my daughter were in my room which is right beside my son's and the door slammed I mean it made a VERY loud sound BANG! So I scratched my head at that lol. I also don't beleive in all spirits being evil like people like to think, there usually lost souls of some sort. Very rarley are they their to hurt anyone.

spooky indeed!
there is a neighborhood dog that mine hates. She can be asleep or in another other room, when she growls very quietly and her nose starts twitchin. Everytime we hear the grumble, we say "oh samantha must be coming" and sure enough about 1 minute later, that dog walks past the house.
Mine has freaked me out a bit with things she has done completely out of the ordinary when Im home alone

If its a regular white paper one I wouldn't worry too much, we had a dog at the shelter who ate newspaper all the time and the vet just said it was 'roughage'

Know once and awhile he will jsut stop and stair at the corner of the living room...tad creepy lol

A friend of mine used to work in an old folks home that had a resident cat...mind you, the cat was probably as old as most of it's residents! lol
Anyway, usually he would go visit only certain people for a few days, and stay near their bed, and sad thing is, those poor souls would pass away 1-2 days later...
Such a sad story to hear, but the way I see it, at least those people had something extra warm to cuddle with in their last days!

My boys have both seen people that have passed. My 3 year old seems especially sensitive to things like that... I can hear him talking to someone in the middle of the night sometimes. Sometimes it creeps me out and other times I don't mind! He was born a few days after my Grandmother passed and I like to think she comes to visit him

I know that cats are very intuitive about things like that. I have one cat who will jump out of a deep sleep like he's terrified... he hasn't done it for awhile but it's freaky as hell!
Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur... happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr purr purr
