Eighty-four-year-old Mary Grams lost her engagement ring back in 2004 in the garden of her family’s farm in Alberta, Canada.
“I crawled around on the floor and didn’t find it for days, so finally I went to the jeweler and bought another ring,” she told HuffPost.
Thirteen years later, her daughter-in-law just found it growing around a carrot pulled from the ground, as first reported by the CBC.

Depending on the season, my backyard flowers include tulips and daffodils.

I will try to post pics this week, still trying to figure out tapatalk lol
I have had peas coming all summer long, a lot of my stuff was late, so I am getting cucumbers now, tomatoes which are still green, lettuce, and a couple pumpkins! I have not had much luck with my yellow zucchini, one died and now one more growing (out of 2 plants) and spinach died out. My peppers are just flowering and starting one pepper, even though I started the plants in early may!!

What fabulous produce, TNT! So cool that you are growing more unusual items. I love romanescu and have always wanted to try pattypan squash.

String beans are like zucchini -produce that keeps on producing/giving!
This week, a snapdragon plant has had a cluster of white flowers with pale yellow tint (there was a different cluster of pink/orange flowers last month so the new cluster from another plant is a SURPRISE!). I happened to notice that the lavender plant has spread open somewhat and seems to have gained two to three inches in height. Hope there will be flowers next summer if the plant makes it through winter this year.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

^ And it may be a stupid question TNT, but do the coloured ones taste any different than the orange ones?

Thank you, GoJays! We share some with friends, eat some fresh, and process the rest to store. We live in small house and don't have an area that would work as a cold room/root cellar, so for the last number of years, I have sliced and dehydrated carrots for soups and stews. We have other things in the freezer, so it is nice to have an alternative way to store carrots (besides blanching/freezing). Next year, I might try canning a batch of dill carrots, too.
I haven't noticed a difference in the taste of the different coloured carrots, Natalka, though some varieties might be a bit sweeter than others. The kinds in the picture are Scarlet Nantes (common), Kuroda, Purple Dragon, Atomic Red (these are more pink than red), and Jaune Obtuse du Doubs. I grew a white carrot last year (I think it was called, "Lunar White") and there is a very dark purple one I haven't tried yet called, "Pusa Asita". It is purple all the way through, whereas most purple carrots have an orange interior.

Even the names are exotic-sounding Good for you for growing so much! We have storage space downstairs, however, we don't have growing space, so I don't grow vegetables. Sure, the odd tomato plant or pepper but that's about it. Too much shade in the yard anyway, I don't think anything would thrive, so I have to settle for farmer's market purchases.

I have one green pepper plant.
It doesn't like me.
I'm not sure why.@
