Trudeau had no time to get to Fort McMurray or evacuation places last week, nor this week - until this coming Friday.
Hmmmm, but had time to meet with the Chinese Communist Party Secretary

Guess not much has changed in the past few years -
The Liberal leader was asked which nation he admired most. He responded: "There's a level of admiration I actually have for China. Their basic dictatorship is actually allowing them to turn their economy around on a dime."

Yes it is a change for the Harper years. Trudeau has delegated fantastically; Notley has done good job. Goodale is a lousy speaker and doesn't inspire confidence, but he's been there too. The mayor, that's who I've been missing.

@Natalka I had read that it was NOT that he had no time to go to Fort MacMurray, but rather that he chose NOT to go but instead allow the volunteers and all the people fighting that blaze to concentrate on their work there rather than escort him around.
He realized his visit and presence would put an unnecessary strain on security. What could he possibly do there while they were in the thick of battling this fire? I think it was the right call.

He could have gone to visit any of the evacuation centres at any time - not necessarily to Fort Mac - he could have gone to Lac La Biche, Plamondon, Edmonton; he could have gone with the premier when she made her visit Monday.

Zimmerman to action off gun used in Martin shooting
The Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm gun will be auctioned off by GunBroker.com. The auction begins Thursday at 11 a.m. ET and the bidding starts at $5,000.
“Prospective bidders, I am honored and humbled to announce the sale of an American Firearm Icon. The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012,” Zimmerman wrote on the website.
Zimmerman was found not guilty of second-degree murder in the shooting death of the teenager in Sanford, Florida, in 2012. Zimmerman claimed he was defending himself when he shot Trayvon. The shooting and verdict touched off protests nationwide.
“Many have expressed interest in owning and displaying the firearm including The Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C.,” Zimmerman wrote. “This is a piece of American History… Offers to purchase the Firearm have been received; however, the offers were to use the gun in a fashion I did not feel comfortable with.”
Zimmerman said he will use the proceeds to “ensure the demise of [Florida State Attorney] Angela Correy’s persecution career and Hillary Clinton’s anti-firearm rhetoric.”

Wow, imagine what a field day the press would have had if Laureen Harper had said this!
----------
The Prime Minister’s Office is exploring various options – including hiring a second staffer – after Sophie Grégoire Trudeau publicly complained she is struggling to deal with the workload that comes with her duties, federal officials told The Globe and Mail.

So I guess you're saying that Sophie should aspire to be as useless as Laureen was?

I know she did a lot of volunteer work, but quietly a lot of the time, not in the limelight. Some people are just humble like that.
----
Throughout her time in Ottawa, she has made a massive contribution to the National Arts Centre, humane societies across the country, anti-bullying initiatives with the Canadian Centre for Child Protection, the Red Cross, True Patriot Love and youth mental-health programs.
honorary campaign chair Trans Canada Trail (TCT) Foundation - Laureen came to trail openings and announcements, hosted donors at 24 Sussex and gave them a private tour of the Parliament Buildings (with great stories) and attended fundraising events, and most potential donors didn't know what hit them. She even lobbied to have the driveway of 24 Sussex named an honorary part of the Trans Canada Trail.

Sophie intends to be much more politically active than PM's spouses have been in the past.
She's also hugely popular:
She receives an extraordinarily high volume of correspondence and invitations.

I am on Sophie's side in all this! I think she SHOULD have more help with her young family if that is what it takes to be at her husband's side ( when needed ) or performing other duties she feels are great causes.
Personally I could not stand Harper, but I resisted the urge to put up insulting pics of him with silly captions. That seems immature.
HE was in power THEN, Justin ( and Sophie ) are in power NOW.....live with it!
