Sad isn't it? Tolerance is a myth in the western world. I know it's the US, but some of the nonsense have heard over here isn't far off. Did we act like this when Kosovo / Bosnian refugees were being brought here? The amount of ignorance out there is just mind blowing with some people moaning that refugees are getting more handouts than born and bred Canadians.

Fact is not every born and bred Canadian who is now a pensioner actually worked throughout their years (some were stay at home dads/moms), some had no skills and lived off welfare / EI, and somehow think they deserve privileges just because they are "Canadians" born here.

Many recent immigrants and their kids are paying more into the old age pot than some people born here did. Many of these new arrivals will probably become self sufficient sooner and will be able to pay back into the economy. But I don't expect some people to be able to see this

Personally, I always ask what is the impact on me personally of a refugee and immigrants that pay their applications fees to come here, on me as an individual? The answer is .....NONE.

The crazies are out in force. Imagine if someone stood in front of your church with machine guns?

They are going to need thousands of new low income housing spots across Canada if all of these people are supposed to move on from military housing in weeks.

None of the kids know English and many have been out of school in refugee camps for years.

I think the Liberal's cost estimates are optimistic.

Here there is the usual stink of why they won't be allowed to go to english schools. The english school system has the capacity to accept and enroll them immediately but our laws don't allow immigrants to go to english school "sigh".

Living in a rural area where all people look alike ,I wonder if my opinion counts at all? as far as I am concerned twice as many would be find with me. I worry about them being put into intern camps!!!!! and also not allowing young men in!!!!! as a mother that worries me.

It's not just "they" who are worried is it now? Same applies here, and it's not always the obvious people that we should be concerned about, it's the nutcases like this guy who can't tolerate foreigners or the Govt

WBC planning on being a-holes yet again

While some conservative speakers latched on to this fact to counter narratives of conservative terrorism, the Westboro Baptist Church took an entirely different path, condemning the officer for his protection of the public in the Planned Parenthood shooting, his church for failing to condemn homosexuality and abortion, and the entire community for allowing the Planned Parenthood clinic to exist.

There are many unfortunate people who live off the GRID who aren't planning any shootings or murders. Circumstances aren't responsible for their actions, they are. imho.
