so sad and ridiculous
He has consistently pointed to the hundreds of drug tests that he passed as proof of his innocence during his extraordinary run of Tour titles from 1999 to 2005.Last edited by Sally888; Fri, Aug 24th, 2012 at 01:49 PM.

Rumored for years, not surprised. He had good doctors to cover it up.
Glad it finally happened.

I believe he is innocent, don't they need more than hearsay from bitter opponents to do this? I thought they had no evidence
( drug test evidence) so how do they strip him without actual proof?

I have to agree that he is innocent. I hope the ICU (International Cycling Union) doesn't allow for him to be stripped of his titles. I've read that its up to them to decide whether he is or not.

frugal50, suicide is not amusing or to be talked about for your light entertainment, you missed the point again. The members on here are not your fans, they are simply members.

While I don't believe he is innocent I hope that at least they will reveal the evidence they have against him and make sure it is beyond a reasonable doubt. To strip him of everything it better be convicing.
There is a Montreal sportwriter who has been following him for years and he has always reported that there was a quite conspiracy to cover up Armstrong's habit for the good fo the sport.
We shall see.

Last video I saw was of his US team mates stating that they used the drugs and saw him use them. They said he had them stored in his fridge. So not bitter opponents, but "friends".
I think he may have one the first Tour de France, but I also believe that he was able to obtain the best drugs that defied the drug testing technology of the day. I think he was one step above the testing detection equipment.
They made the charge of doping in June of this year based on testing of stored samples accumulated over the years and based on testimony from team mates. The 2012 type testing technology's ability to detect the drugs previously undetectable is the new evidence, I think.
All in all, a very sad story, for everyone.Last edited by Shwa Girl; Sat, Aug 25th, 2012 at 08:38 PM.

Just heard this morning that the international cycling body has officially stripped the titles. I have to say that I'm not surprised at the whole thing.... I mean, he was beating people who were known to be doping, often by very wide margins. It always smelled a bit fishy to me.
