I guess they just are so frustrated that they cannot get anything seedy(on a personal level) on Obama.

I love this one, the poll at the bottom of Chris Matthews article.
What's motivating The Donald's latest stunt?
His blimp-sized ego
His political aspirations
His genuine concern

It started with a few hard-core Hillary Clinton fans (1) but only made main-stream when Obama became the Democrat canditate and some of McCain's followers took up the call....Palin has been more vocal.(2)
1)
The idea of going after Obama’s otherness dates back to the last presidential election, and to Democrats. Long before Trump started in, Hillary Clinton’s chief strategist, Mark Penn, recognized this potential vulnerability in Obama and sought to exploit it.
In a March 2007 memo to Clinton (that later found its way to me), Penn wrote: “All of these articles about his boyhood in Indonesia and his life in Hawaii are geared toward showing his background is diverse, multicultural and putting it in a new light,” he wrote. “Save it for 2050. It also exposes a very strong weakness for him — his roots to basic American values and culture are at best limited. I cannot imagine America electing a president during a time of war who is not at his center fundamentally American in his thinking and his values.”
Sarah Palin declared on Thursday that the legitimacy of President Obama's birth certificate is "rightfully" an issue with the American public, and that it is "fair game" for politicians to question Obama's citizenship.
The comments came during an interview with conservative radio host Rusty Humphries, who asked Palin whether she planned to "make the birth certificate an issue" if she runs for president in 2012.
"I think the public rightfully is still making it an issue," Palin said. "I don't have a problem with that. I don't know if I would have to bother to make it an issue, because I think that members of the electorate still want answers."
Then after the election, you got people like Orly Taitz taking over and keeping it bubbling under the surface. I won't link to Ms Taitz page as it frequently injects malware.

I personally am very much so opinionated towards Mitt Romney in this whole election, and personally think that Obama would be better for America from my standpoint. I think some of the comments Romney made during the debates kind of turned me off him even moreso than I was before. The only positive I found from him in my opinion was the "approval" of the Keystone XL Pipeline into America, which Obama rejected / postponed.

BBC Poll; Rest of world favours Obama
A BBC World Service opinion poll has found sharply higher overseas approval ratings for US President Barack Obama than Republican challenger Mitt Romney.
An average of 50% favoured Mr Obama, with 9% for Mr Romney, in the survey of 21,797 people in 21 countries.
Only Pakistan's respondents said they would prefer to see Mr Romney win November's election.
France was the most strongly pro-Obama (72%).
