Hi folks!

Long time no post, but I think I am caught up reading! Second try today at mailing our parcels in the States. Got all the way over on Saturday with my brother (as DH was sick) only to find the post office had closed at noon!) Gah!

Then went to church on Sunday to dress up as the mother in "T'was the Night Before Christmas"- complete with box decorated as a fireplace and white gifts for the Women's Shelter. Wanted to remind kids and congregation to bring in "stockings all hung by the chimney with care" (socks for the homeless).
Since we don't have a minister yet, things just aren't getting organized. So I "took the reigns" to get it started. We handed out clothespins to the kids to decorate and bring back with socks attached next week. (Adults too.)

Then, since my cold had moved back into my ears and chest, I decided to check it out at the ER.

After several hours of waiting amongst the sickest folk of Chatham-Kent I heard the magic words ( Now think of that kitschy song by the Foggy Mountain Flat Boys- or whomever- Elvira)

"It's viral!"

Home again -Home again - jiggity jig!

On Monday I splurged and went and got a manicure (complete with gel and sparkles!) First one I've had since my wedding day.(My nails just never hang on until they're all long enough at the same time so this was a Christmas miracle.)

That night drove out to Ridgetown to meet a lovely young couple I will marry in April. FINALLY an indoor wedding in spring!

I had gone to Laura Secord to pick up some treats to send to the States and I ate ONE tiny dark chocolate espresso chocolate. Result- didn't get to sleep until 4:30 am. Good thing it tasted so good! I was certain it was gluten, dairy, sugar and caffeine free! Yeah, right!

Our friend who has had Shingles has made up a whole package of Christmas cookies to send to her kids in the States. Besides the fact that either the dog or I may EAT them on the way, I hope customs doesn't give us a hassle!

Well, gotta "Get my motor runnin'----- Head out on the highway!......Lookin' for adventure....in whatever comes our way!"

Good morning, everyone!!!

Well, I'll call it "freezing rain", even though there are some white things that remain on the ground; it's freezing rain that got stuck on the ground, that's all it is.

Today is our Grandson's school concert!! Yay! Oh, what a turn-out they get! Both performances are standing-room-only, the gym is packed! The teachers and staff do such a great job decorating the place and organizing the performances. This year instead of canned goods, they've set up a crib in the lobby for baby donations...I thought that was such a sweet idea. So I've picked up a few pairs of sleepers, and Hubby will head out shortly to pick up a case of baby food. Now that our SIL is a SAHD and our DD has booked the afternoon off, they'll be with us at the afternoon concert instead of the evening one...so exciting!

I think I've got my Friday menu down pat for the kids' dinner here, so maybe since we're out this afternoon, we'll pick up most of the groceries I need. I can't wait to have them over for a grown-up dinner with our Grandson; I love spoiling them, they're so good to us and everyone else...

Avon, life in the fast lane as usual...it must be difficult without your former minister and I guess your 'hiring' group still have those two applicants awaiting your decision...This time of year must be even more difficult to get everyone together to deal with this. But your congregation thankfully, has you, my Friend! They're very lucky, too!!

Hicks, how are you doing today? How's your pain level, manageable, I hope? Just dang uncomfortable to be in that position this time of year, isn't it?
