@Natalka , our priest must have spent days on end trying to convince my parents to send us to separate (Catholic) schools; thank goodness my brother and I won that discussion...no argument within the family, just with the priest..Goodness, had I gone, I'd never have met my Hubby in our highschool!!
Did you also have to wear slacks going to and from school in the winter than go to the girls' washroom to peel them off because slacks weren't allowed in schools? But I guess you may not have suffered that indignity...you're younger than some of us on here. However...I was a clothes-horse, loved the clothes I designed and my Mom sewed for me. Except the the Manhattan blouses and kilts! Wish I knew what happened to those kilts...loved my cranberry one and my pink and grey plaid in particular. I have one kilt left from later years, a longer navy one; no idea what to do with it, but it is a lovely, soft wool...
Ah, memories. And/or nightmares!

We couldn't wear pants to school until I was in Grade Five. We walked to school, about five long blocks - so yeah, it was layers of tights and pants in those frigid winters, under dresses before that.
My second oldest sis is your age, and went to the convent, too - had no problem meeting her high school sweetheart who went to the boys' college! They went to the same university - she went out teaching, he stayed and finished his degree, then they got married in 1972.
When I went, there were dances between the schools, drama productions, sports, etc.
When she was going, I think she met him at a coffee house held at their school.
I wouldn't have traded the all girls' school experience for anything - it was absolutely fabulous!Last edited by Natalka; Tue, May 10th, 2016 at 12:03 AM.

^ hicks, I'm so glad you're happy!
Crazy that I had to turn the heat on in here - enough is enough.
The rain outside is light, but I'm glad it's here!
Have a FAB day, everyone!

I'm still smiling from my time with my son.
I spent 2 days with my DS & family; I don't see him as often as I would like, so it was a wonderful visit. He's a great cook, so I was spoiled rotten with many of my favourites, and a dozen yellow roses.
Part 2 of my Mother's Day gift is bingo this Friday night, and part 3, a Blue Jays game next Tues.

Good beautiful morning, everyone!!
Well, a mouse definitely found its way into out trailer this winter, so clean-up was major!! Evidence was "only" in the kitchen area, so everything was removed, stripped down, scrubbed and all the cutlery came home and put thru the dishwasher. Thank goodness we had left no food nor linens there, but everything else was untouched by that rodent. Seems it's just one of those things when camping; still, lots of work inside and yard-work outside, but oh, it was wonderful to be out there again!!! We got everything running nicely, so no worries for the summer!
Today is absolutely free-motion quilting day on that baby quilt!!
Have a lovely week, everyone!!

Ok, it's time to take a break. My patio set is out & up; my living room & dining room windows are cleaned, inside & out, screens are washed & back in; and I've done a little garden clean up.
I'm tired, but still want to do some more gardening, and mow the back yard this afternoon.
We'll see.

Yep, stupid bloomers!!!
All the top free-motion quilting is DONE!! Woohoo!!! I only quilted the white parts so that the coloured parts would be poofier; now I just have to make the bias binding and put it on! Then I'll wash it and send it off!
Time to sew for ME!!

Hi Loocie! Sorry, I am not up to speed. Where did you go for the weekend? Glad you had fun! Wishing you well for this week's treatments.
Sadly, DH has pneumonia and won't be having his chemo this week. He has no symptoms except for exhaustion. He has daily visits from homecare nurses to deliver intravenous antibiotics for another 2 days. Hope he can kick this down the road effectively!
Sorry you are suffering with the cold/cough etc.!
