Oh, my how exciting @coupon girl !! A grandson!! Ohhhh, I love having a grandson, they're so much fun, rough and tumble, taking life all in and excited about so many things! Just this weekend we "invented" a new recipe...lemon/raspberry pancakes, lol and yes, we are planning to make them. All those super-heroes (be prepared to memorize all of them, like the Avengers, Justice League, Transformers...you will be quizzed! :)) That may be a ways off, however.
I hope the best for everyone...stay strong, Grandma!!
Busy week-end here...went to Montreal for Otakuthon and Heavy Montreal..The brood had a blast as did Mr P and I..Rocked out and nerded out for a few weeks to come.
Hello folks!
Just peeking in around piles of boxes!
DH's sister had a heart attack on Thursday night- not a major one- thankfully, since she is getting married a week on Friday!
She had an angiogram this afternoon and they didn't find a lot of plaque, so no surgery. They think she might be diabetic so they are monitoring that. I'm not sure when she'll get out but we have offered to go down to help with anything we can. We would have gone tonight if she had had to have surgery.
She's another, "I'll-handle-it-all!"- perfectionist but I hope she can start to take it easy.
I have been cruising the net to see if there are any doggies that we might be interested in adopting. "After-the-wedding" was/is the agreement. Can't wait!
Got to get some sleep!
Hope all is well with all of you.
Good luck with your appointments, Lynn! Hope you feel better soon!
Bracing for this new heat wave.
Take care!
Watching the kill tony podcast live on ustream. They ask this guy where he works and while he said headlight factory it def sounded like he said head lice factory. Host said you look like the kind of guy that works at a head lice factory and pop came out of my nose lol, it just caught me off guard haha. ;)
Good morning everyone.Attachment 317193
Morning everyone :hello:
anyone else notice mornings are getting little cooler?
Good morning every1.
Yes @danger_dan - it's on 13 right now. :(
@avoncallingu - wow, you've got so much on your plate. I hope your move went smoothly. And now your DH's sister. I'm glad it wasn't too serious, but still, a heart attack just before her wedding. Please take it easy and get some rest.
@Lynn49 - I hope you had a good night's sleep, and you back's a little better this morning.
I hope every1 has a great day.

Good morning, everyone!
@avoncallingu , what next?! Such a relief to hear that your SIL 'only' had a minor incident, but good heavens, what a scare, and before her wedding! You know I keep hoping that you take breaks and relax for a while now and then...now @22hicks is on your case, too, which is nice to see..:) Hicks, I keep telling her that those boxes don't need to be unpacked to the point of exhaustion...look at me! 7 years and I still have some off the rec-room! They really do politely wait!
@danger_dan, yep, 14 this morning, but heading up to 30 with that humidity back once again.
@22hicks, nope, Sweetie, my back was worse last night and DH had to help me into bed, the pain was so horrible...it felt more like it was my hip and I wondered if finally it had completely worn out and that perhaps a hip replacement would be more necessary than my knee replacement. I'll be bionic within a few years! I'll see our doc this morning with DH so I'll ask for a muscle relaxant, but somehow I doubt it's a muscle thing. I just hate being like this when the weather is so fantastic!! My walking has really deteriorated because of my hips; I have to stop and rest several times when walking from our DD's trailer back to ours and it's barely a short block away! Sometimes I feel as if I just won't make it. I'm not particularly thrilled with these "golden years".
Take good care, everyone, try to stay cool and hydrated; we'll appreciate these days a few months from now when it's -30 and the snow is being tossed around by the cold winds of winter.
Let's savour every minute of these waning summer days!!!

Ouch @Lynn49 - I sure hope the doc can help you out. I know it took me 2 years before I could walk again after I broke my back, so I know how painful and annoying it can be. With my leg wonky now, it's really affecting my hips too. :(
I'm with you, not liking these golden years so much. The only positive thing I can say about them is that I don't have to get up and go to work any more. :)
good morning!! Reading back a few posts I see pain is once again being discussed.....I agree these " golden years " are not always so golden. Hugs to you @Lynn49 , sure hope the Doc can find a way to offer you some relief from your back pain. @avoncallingu when you are finally all unpacked I just know you will jump into another project and I want a little of your stamina!
My DH's back continues to improve BUT in minor increments. I'm very happy he can at least walk around now. We both continue with our physio and doing home stretches, swim a few times a week together and hopefully these small things will pay off for us over time?
Hope everyone who is able to will drink in this lovely weather today....although it will be hot!
Must return to my stretches soon!!

walkonby so glad your husband is better, even if it is small steps.
Lynn, so sorry you are in such terrible pain; hoping you are able to get some relief and heal soon.
