Everyone sounds pretty good in here, various recoveries and health treatments taken into account.
Congrats to you hicks for all the volunteer work you did on the auction. DH and I just returned from physio, he was able to squeeze in an acupuncture/massage treatment since it appears he's pulled some upper back muscles while....( can you believe this? SNEEZING! ).
He was almost fully recovered from the nasty sciatica lower back issues and was perhaps nearing returning to work, then the other day this happened. His sneezes are just so sudden...they are loud and forceful, holy macaroni they make the cats and dogs freak out.

Thanks guys.
@walkonby - what a shame for your DH.I've done that, and it hurts like he!! I hope it doesn't last long; & on the bright side, if there is one, it didn't re-agravate his lower back & set him back to the beginning. That's what happened to me.
@Lynn49 - I know this is your favourite time of year, but take it easy girl. The family will understand if you don't do as much this year, & it'll give every1 something to look forward to next year.
It's been so nice out, for November, I've put my Christmas lights and boughs outside on the railings. I'd love to do the tree too, but no way am I climbing up a ladder. I was in a w/chair last year @ this time, so anything I do is more that I did then. I'm looking forward to decorating.
I don't know how much I'll bake though, maybe 3 or 4 things in case anyone drops by, but my son's away for 2 weeks over Christmas this year, so I think it'll be a very quiet, lonely one.

Lynn, you sound like you want to do it all, but easy does it!
Walks - oh, your poor husband! I know how much it hurts to sneeze/cough with a hurt back.
Cabbie - cool beans on your new stuff - enjoy!
Hicks - an amazing amount of money you raised, you should be very proud!

Now for the horrible news in my world - my brother-in-law died this morning, husband of my second-oldest sister.
He had esophageal cancer, diagnosed just about a year ago - went through surgery and many rounds of treatments, but it just didn't cut it.
He got taken to the hospital on the weekend, and had not been conscious since then.
I'm numb, I think - and it's hard to not keep crying; it just doesn't seem real that he is gone, and I'm just heartbroken for my sister and their kids and grandkids.
My sister is 10 years older than me, same age as her husband (and my husband) - they were childhood sweethearts and got married in 1972. When my sister retired from teaching several years ago, he took early retirement from his job as an IT specialist (civilian) with the police service here - they have travelled, and have been enjoying their children and grandchildren. Their three kids and their families all live here.
So, cancer sucks - and a whole bunch of other swears...

I'm so sorry @Natalka .
It was nice that he retired so they could spend time together, a time she'll never forget.

Oh, Natalka, I am very sorry for your loss. Please accept and express my sincere condolences! You have been worrying about he and your sister for a long time, but it always seems to be a surprise and hard to accept.

Hicks, what a spectacular result from your auction! No wonder you are exhausted!
Lynn- 21st. Century Christmas! How can you use your computer and other 2016 services to create an "alternative" and wonderful Christmas celebration? Hmmm...
Walks, I am sorry about the sneeze fallout! I can recommend "That Stuff for Pain" but I know you had a hard time finding it.

cabbie, avon, and hicks - thanks so much. My SC family is so special to me.
Our son just called, he was asked to be pallbearer; prayers are Wednesday night, funeral Thursday morning.
Was so glad when my husband came home, hugs are healing...

Oh, @Natalka , I'm so sorry to hear of your Brother-in-Law's passing. I know what you mean about it not feeling real: when I say my prayers at night and bless my Mom and Dad, that feels natural, but when I 'say' my Brother's name, I just can't believe he's not with us.
It's going to be such a difficult time for your Sister, but I know you all have strong family bonds to help her get through this most difficult time of the year.
@avoncallingu ...um...21st Century, huh? Okay...I've ordered gifts on line...um....hm....nothin's coming!! I'll ask our Grandson this year to pick out the gift that I always pick from Plan Canada; he's old enough this year to make that decision and I always make that purchase in his name. But that's all I've got, Sweetie!!
@22hicks , don't you dare do anything that might hurt you this year!! Good heaven's Girl....there are quite enough of us here healing from broken bones, replacements...we sure don't need company in that department!
@cabmonk ....you'll just have to take pics of your new digs when you have everything together! It'll feel so great, congrats on moving forward with your decorating!
Off to sleep, physio tomorrow......Sweet dreams, everyone!!
