Just found the cutest printables online! I printed them off and added them to the bundles I did up for the daycare (wrote a note from DD & DS on the back).
Weird that it wont let me copy a pic. Will try and find one online in case anyone else needs ideas!

I really need to start baking again but I don't think Christmas cookies would be very good with a dash of influenza tossed in
I need to make up some more candy cane bark, and I need to make sugar cookies and gingerbread men. I'm also thinking about doing a yule log (bouche du noel) if I decide I can pull it off!Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur... happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr purr purr

Just got back from DQ. The kids got shots so we took them for ice cream.
Now onto crafts. I need to make a Christmas Pickle ornament since I'm leery to bring a glass one in for DS's class tomorrow. DD's class can use the glass one but not a good idea for the little ones. lol

Not fantastic but it'll do the job. It probably won't survive a bunch of 1-2 year olds but its better than a glass one.

Cute pickle! I know there's a story behind the Christmas pickle thing, what's the deal with it?

For our family the story is:
We get new ornaments each year. For our first Christmas together I got DH a Christmas pickle for our tree. I saw it in a store and it said it was a German tradition so I assumed DH would have had one growing up. NOPE! lol. He was like WTF is it? hahaha
From then on it was our inside joke which just turned into our own tradition. The kids have always loved it. They search for the pickle on Christmas morning and whomever finds it gets to open the first present.
You can google and it'll give you a couple of background stories of the pickle.

Apparently most German people have never heard of the tradition. It's more of a North American thing. Maybe someone of German decent invented it? Or it's just a ploy to sell pickle ornaments? whatever it is, we do it for fun.
