Hi, everyone....cabin fever hit yesterday.
Baked raisin oatmeal cookies yesterday for grandson and hubby.
Ate too many.
Ran some errands today, having wine now.

I really get S.A.D this time of the year.....

I think everyone hates dark cold dreary days.

I know after the afternoon I had that I would be joining you with that glass of wine....but I have to pick DD up from Gymnastics in a few hours so I won't.

Thank you, I_forget, and for the PMs....it seems we're not alone in feeling yucky during these dreary, dark days.
I'm clenching everything I can, and holding my breath until the sun comes out and that horrid white crap melts!

When I get really bummed out with the weather, I do such silly things to try to change my mood.

Sometimes I will listen to music with a "warm" feel to it, or I will go to the store and smell flowers.
I grab books from travel agencies with pictures of Hawaii or the Caribbean....I "plan" vacations that I want to go on....
make myself a drink and toss an umbrella in it....

It really helps get my mind off of winter and onto something really positive.

This time of year is hard for me too, the lack of sunlight, the disgusting snow (I hate it!), the messy conditions... you're not alone Lynn

I've found the best way to deal with this time of year is a rousing game of tag. Sometimes Quincy cat will chase me, then suddenly throw himself onto the ground and lick himself (apparently that's a far more exciting thing to do). That's when Lily dog joins in the fun. She and I will chase each other around my kitchen island. The only problem is that she cheats and doubles back to catch me. Not sure what would happen after that, since at that point I'm usually exhausted and in need of a nap.

The best part is that all 3 of us are smiling.

So sorry you are feeling down; I would have thought with spring being so close and the days getting so much longer, things would feel better now instead of worse...

This has been such a weird winter... we got hit so hard and it's just be relentless ever since. But you're right, Natalka, Spring is coming!!
