I hate shopping when I'm hungry cos I can never find what I want to eat and I then can't decide what I want to eat out of all the choices in the store..I'm just as bad if I go to a restaurant when I'm hungry.. I just don't want to eat anything on the menu and can't decide which is the best alternative left...

Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

I feel for you Lola. I used to get that a lot too when the brood were younger..why stay at home and have your kids at day-care and In French too???...
THere were times when all I saw of Mr P was him dropping his case off, driving into work to pick up a few things, returning for his case and driving back to the airport.
Because LilPenguin was late, Mr P had to travel for the week after he was born..That was fun. Taking Penguinette 1 to school P2 to day-care and shuttling LilP and DM around with me in the early Jan days since DM had to go out at least once every day regardless of my convience and then DM got upset because I refused her offer of stopping longer to help.... I'm still anoyed 8 yrs later.
The main reason we put the brood into day-care was to get them talking French since they'd be in the French schooling system and I got sh!t from both sides of the language divide.
Some people actually told me it would be better for the brood to start school not being able to communicate with thier teachers about thier needs..

Lola, you have nothing to feel you have to apologize for or qualify. Our DD and her hubby had 2 sets of grandparents willing to babysit our grandson when she went back to work, so when they decided to put him into daycare at 18 months of age, it seemed very strange. But it was an inspired decision,,,being with his peers, learning to cooperate with others, etc was wonderful fir him! I know it's not quite the same situation, but the result is the same....he learned more with those teachers than he could have with us...even tho' we love him to crazies. As a young Mom with 2 kids I'd diapers, I also had help come in and relieve me for appointments or just to get away for a while (and hubby made certain I had every Saturday off!)..you don't have that hubby option...I think you're handling it all brilliantly!

Morning all! I didn't get a chance to weigh in yesterday, so here goes...
If I had the option, I would have LOVED to put my kids in daycare for a couple days a week, and I've been a SAHM for years. My boys both had trouble when they started school because they had no socialization outside of family and a small group of friends. Social development has been a huge problem, for both of them.
There have been many days that I've had to take my kids with me to less than desirable places (in a child's eyes) because I had no other option. If I had to do it again, and if I had the means, I would be all over daycare!!
I've been very lucky in that I always had people willing to babysit for me if I needed it but, like Lynn said, it's not the same.

Thanks for the support! I really do greatly appreciate it.
Both DH and I feel truly blessed to be able to have our kids in daycare for 2 days a week (now only DS since DD has moved on to JK). It's not always easy putting up the money each month but we both think it's a priority -- It really is amazing how much they benefit from the centre. They love their teachers and friends.
In the short time DS has been there, his language has increased, he's more independant, has better social skills, and so much more. His classroom is pretty much a smaller version of DD's kindergarten classroom - he has his own cubby, his own spot at the table, his own cot, etc. He has learned to follow routines, participate, cooperate, etc. Much like Kindergarten they have theme days and special activites (last week EMT's came and talked about their job and let them go on the Ambulance).
I realize some people dont understand it, but it works for us and we feel blessed to be able to do it.

Anyhoo, onto other things...
DD and DS are currently colouring. Need to start getting ready soon. I'm happy I bought DD a little umbrella yesterday, looks like rain again! Even with her raincoat and boots, she still steals my umbrella (which is too big) and walks into things. lol

I know loads of people who put their kids in DC and are sahm and some working parents also put their kids in daycare on their days off. My friends did this when they were renovating, made it easier and safer. Both could be hands on the renos and not worry about the kids getting hurt.

I did the same thing with my 2, they were both into ST and attended DC every day 5 days a week. and OH YA i got the questions too, everytime i felt i had to go into the whole speil about y.. thankfully it didn't last too long before they were in school FT. but man really i tried to do the best I could for my kids and still felt guilty for it. im there for ya to Lola. well thats my rant for the day as well
both mine are on their way as well. one is dealing with ear pressure/possible ear infection, been dealing with it since he was 2. going to get some nasal spray to see if it relieves some pressure.
picking up a few other items and maybe back home for a nap. didn't sleep at all last night..soon as I laid down my nose started to run. all day it could have done that. no lets wait until she wants to sleep. grrr.
well have a good morning all.Be Strong
Be True
Be You.
Simple as that!

Morning roomies. Happy Friday.
I can't profess to understand God's plan. Christ promised the resurrection of the dead. I just thought he had something a little different in mind.

It must have poured here last night because there's water laying everywhere! DS wasn't happy about wearing his boots today at all... I just bought him new shoes last weekend and they light up and he LOVES them. I just told him they wouldn't light up anymore if he got them wet!
I need to watch Idol this morning- I've been avoiding Facebook so I don't know who got voted out!
