Black frames @Lynn49 - mine are purple, the hippie look.

Really windy here too.
I've been watching the dog show. It was ok on the computer, but much better on t.v.

A couple of weeks ago, when we had all that wet snow, the dog walker took Jake to Cullen Park for his run.
Believe it or not, the snowballs were so big, sticking to his long hair, that he couldn't even walk. She had to carry him back through the park to the car.
One of the disadvantages of having a long-haired dog.
I love the 1st one.

You have to look hard to even see any dog in this one. Too funny.

Oh my goodness, 22Hicks!!! That's just crazy!!! How to you thaw that snow? I bet a nice warm bath would have been appreciated...
I'm so thankful for a no-grooming Doxie...no snow sticks to her fur at all! Even if she does decide to be out there for a whole 2 minutes alone!

It had to be a warm bath; there was no other way to melt it off, except a hair dryer, but he's terrified of the noise. The only problem with a bath, is that it takes hours for him to dry, so if he has to go back out, we have to start over again. My only worry is that he would catch cold, but he didn't.
He just LOVES playing in the snow.

hicks, those pics of your dog are crazy - crazy-cute!
Gals, about getting thicker lenses, I hope you know about high-index lenses - I've had to get them since I was young because I had one eye which had poor vision, and the other was pretty much glass. Over the years, they have evened out, though.

Yes, mine are Nat, otherwise I'd be wearing coke-bottle glasses again.

My prescription only changed slightly....hooray! But the progressive bifocals I wear were already strong. DH can take OFF his glasses and read the teensy tiny print on things!! I am very jealous. I need a magnifying glass in front of my glasses to read some coupons.

Walks, so then you didn't need new ones?
I went last a year and a half ago - and the dr. said it was my decision or not to get progressive lenses, I was right on the middle line. I chose to not get them since they were so much more expensive - but sometimes it drives me crazy because it's glasses on, glasses off - over and over, depending upon what I'm doing.

I also have progressive bi-focals. They're so much better.

The last time I needed to buy glasses, Loblaws optical had a sale on progressive lenses and frames. Complete package was $259. I think they may have it every June (or at least what I could tell from their Facebook postings.)

Oh yes, I ordered my new ones today! ( thankfully fully covered under my Plan) but I have been wearing the progressive bifocals for a few years already, this new prescription was just a slightly stronger one, I never wanted to keep switching from reading to distance glasses during the day, that was why I went with the bifocals in the first place. They do take getting used to in the very beginning though! Like navigating going down a set of stairs.... whoa!
I am also ordering distance only prescription swim goggles because I am so frustrated not being able to see much when I am in the pool!
