I just got home, and I'm so tired. They didn't admit my friend, but it looks like there's more surgery in the near future.

We came back from camp yesterday early evening; it was so hard to leave with the weather so perfect, but, it's dental cleaning day for both of us, so here we are.

It was a great weekend even tho' it rained on Canada Day....and strange, but even though there's a fire-ban on the Island, we all still gathered on the beach in our bay to watch the fire-works that were set off at the Pow-Wow site!! So, @walkonby , thank you for that video, but for some odd reason, they were allowed to go off as usual there! The rain had stopped by then, so it was a lovely evening to set up chairs and watch from the beach.

The kids had another couple staying with them, and THEY bought a trailer there and chose the lot they want it placed on, so they'll be seasonal campers there, too!! Such a sweet couple...the gal works with our DD, and it's her hubby's band that won the Battle of the Bands here in town last month!! It's his hobby... So with him and our SIL there...there'll be many evenings of guitars playing by campfires (once the ban is lifted). I've attached one of their performances from that battle; unfortunately the quality isn't very good...but they are! And he loves Jenny!! The feeling, evidently, is mutual. I can't believe that's him (the lead singer) on stage; he's SO different in person!

Unfortunately, yes.
He's had to have surgery twice already, and I think he's going to need a third.

Nice for you DD that her friend bought there too. Should be quite the party this summer.

I think my favourite part of your w/end is sitting on the beach, watching the fireworks.

@22hicks , I hope your friend comes through his surgery better than expected and that he can avoid another; I know how tough it is when a friend is going through such tough times. All the best.

As for that band, my gosh, it's hard for me to believe that's really him on stage! He's such a gentle giant, so well-spoken, and he and Jenny have this relationship I can only describe as a great mutual affection. If she could sit on his lap all evening she would. Actually...I think she did!

I've never experienced the fireworks there on the beach before, but I'll never miss it again. It was so peaceful, it felt so right somehow, being there with family, I wished it would go on and on....

Stay in, stay cool, are you kidding. I'm outside as much as possible. I have to soak up as many rays, and as much heat, not to mention Vit. D, so I can survive the winter.

...I take a Vit D pill everyday.
Seriously I can stand only so much heat, then I have to head inside to cool off; I keep the house at around 68-70.
I imagine you're watching the game at the moment? Gosh I wish we were there again!

Hope everyone had a good day. 5 days off work starting tomorrow. My lighting kit is now available to pick up at post office. I will pick up wednesday and in the nick of time. the camera i ordered is still moving along in the US.
