I just like to spend my points at this time of year not because the deals are that great but because it allows me to stock the cupboard and leave me the money I would have otherwise spent on household needs on Christmas expenses instead.

Last year they did. Had a bonus one the weekend before, I remember vividly since people were all excited about to spend their points. The "trap" was so people would spend them at a lower value rather than mega.

Me too. December means Christmas, my birthday, winter clothes for the kids, our yearly insurance payments and paying my tuition for the winter semester. Even if I can only redeem at $170 that's still $170 I don't have to take out of our monthly budget. It's the same reason we do the Santa's Choice hamper every year. With sales + coupons I could probably get everything in those hampers for much cheaper but the payment is small enough that we barely notice it, it's fun to get boxes upon boxes of food delivered to your door one day and it frees up a ton of money during an otherwise expensive season.

Maybe that was in 2009 ? Unless the second redemption you're referring to was secret in 2010 too?

I don't remember..it must have a secret redemption or something cause its not in the flyers...this mega thing has become very confusing..lol

Jenny, don't ask me to predict anything.... the rumours will hopefully stop when next week's flyer comes out. Perhaps SDM will have a back to back strategy this year, perhaps Santa will drop by on a motorcycle.. who knows. But 1 thing is for certain, there was no back to back redemptions in 2010 or 2011.
