I hope you get it worked out. I think it's kinda silly for them to worry about 17 free nivea products of which they will get reimbursed, meanwhile there are people who bought hundreds of chocolate bars and wipes and they don't seem to care about that. I just don't get it.......

Nothing you have done warrants cancelling your card. If they had rules about limits they should have stated that when you when you purchased the items, not after. As far as the coupons go they will be reimbursed by the manufacturer so I don't understand why they even bring that up. As someone else said it seems really bizarre that they would pinpoint your transaction.

They do actually have a rule about limits to something like normal household use and can take back points or suspend your account if they think you are buying them for wholesale/resell which they will easily claim 17 packs of soap is (think small convenience store)

I just picked up 12 Nivea soap bars today using the coupons, the cashier who was also a "cashier manager" was absolutely RIDICULOUS!!! I never shop at SDM because they are terrible with coupons (previous experiences and stories I've heard), I was just there dropping some stuff off at the post office and decided to take a look around. As soon as I got to the register and pulled out the coupons she looked as if she was going to eat me alive! She said "You can't use those, it makes them free and that's not possible." After having a whole argument about how the company will reimburse them, she started attacking me about how it wasn't even the right product. I pointed out that it clearly stated "...on Nivea soft product." She finally rang everything in (she didn't even ring the coupons at $3.00 she rang them in at $2.99), and I even ended up paying tax at the end ($4.66, thought I wasn't supposed to pay tax?!?!)! Anyway, I will NEVER shop their again unless its a SUPERB deal I'm not able to PM at Walmart, it's not even worth it for the SDM points any more! I feel for everyone who has had terrible experiences at SDM!!

You are meant to pay tax unless they specify free product, getting $3 off means the coupon is maxxed at $3 not $3+tax

when I was at Shopper's early in the morning getting my bus tickets today in Stoney Creek I was second in line behind a couple who the cashier said her card was suspended or couldn't be processed. She was quite upset and called HQ. Then the cashier took the next person, then me and before I left all I overheard was "fine I will return the wipes if I don't get the points." I had to leave to catch the bus but I guess they are running a program on SDM cards. When I worked for another points card the system would run a program that would scan the cards activity cards once a month for any abuse, fraud, overuse and suspicious activity. Then we would get a CSR's to go in each account, mark what was not allowed or suspicious, then write and note & suspend the card. We never contacted the individual that the card was suspended because in the rules it stated we could do it at anytime without any notice. I was a supervisor and cx yelled & screamed at us. But then we would say its in the policy that you agreed too.

Just go to the shoppers site and log in to your optimum account.
I have only been participating in a few 20X events, and just doing regular shopping there for general grocery stuff every so often, so my card has been (and is) fine along with all my points remaining intact; I don't even have any transfers on my card either. Those that are 'average' users likely have nothing to be concerned about.

I am honestly terrified to go check my account! Better wait until morning, or I won't sleep if it's messed up!

SDM simply needs to get their act together......
I am tired of them clawing back points, changing sales mid-way through the flyer week because it turned out to be too good for their customers....and now this! Whoever thinks up these "deals" that they later recind/alter/harass their customers should be fired...instead of taking it out on their loyal customers.
PHew! Welcome back Sharkie !
