ha ha
So here, this is good for a chuckle, I re-posted the beautiful cake pops that me@t k@tie made and I am posting the very
" gawdy" ones that I made on Sunday.
My first attempt, I made them too big and they kept falling off the sticks when I would try to gently tap the excess melted chocolate coating off.
They were fun to make but messy too.

Heyy those look really nice! I would be honoured to eat one (or 2 or 3). Nice job on the wrapping! I was way too lazy to do that, lol. I'd pop em off the sticks and into a container for my bf's lunches. Nice, huh?
Did you freeze them a bit before you dipped them? I found that freezing them for 20 minutes and also by putting some melted chocolate on the stick before pushing it into the cake part really helped keep things together while I was dipping them.
ps. My first attempt at making them was a complete failure, so don't be too hard on yourself.

that is such encouragement ^^^ tpa, lol
Believe me I will conquer these cake pops in time! I didn't think freezing them was good as if any water ( moisture ) at all gets into the pot of melted chocolate it turns it clumpy. Doesn't moisture form around the pops as they freeze?

Starbucks makes these? I had no idea, but then I am never in a Starbucks ever, that might be why lol
The good news is I had DS open 1 up to see if they are still tasty as I have to keep them refrigerated till the pot luck next Wed. ( I mixed up the dates, thinking it was on yesterday)
Well he gave them the thumbs up, so I feel o.k. about bringing them in.
I will probably still make some regular food dish though. We have very good pot lucks at work!

Made today an old recipe that has been around for years; marshmallow squares- very easy, just melt 1/4 cup peanut butter with about 3 Tblsp. butter. Add 1 bag butterscotch chips, stir to melt until smooth, add about half a small bag of colored marshmallows and mix gently. Pour into pan and let set in the fridge until hard.Store on counter covered with wrap. You can add more marshmallows.
This is a very sweet dessert, but sooooooo good!

Tonight I made Cranberry White chocolate Rice krispie squares.
3/4 cup golden corn syrup
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
5 cups of rice krispies
2 pkgs.of white choc chips
3/4 cup dried cranberries.
In a large saucepan over med heat, melt corn syrup and sugar until just comes to a boil. Add vanilla. Remove from heat, add rice kripies and 3/4 cup of white choc chips.Stir well and place into a baking pan, either 9x13 or 9x9,depending how think you like the squares. Melt the remaining white chocolate and spread over squares. Refrigerate until choc is set.

I made me@tk@tie's Easy Peasy cranberry muffins about 2 hrs ago, they are awesome.
Like I told her though, I did not have enough dried cranberries, so I added some mango pieces, the kind that come frozen ( Europe's Best I think)
Just threw the remaining batter in a small loaf pan, tastes the same.
Does anyone use these silicon muffin cups to bake them in? The muffins NEVER stick! I love them now.Last edited by walkonby; Sun, Apr 10th, 2011 at 02:45 PM.

Got home from work early today and made my mom's wonderful Pineapple coconut carrot cake,it's cooling on a rack, waiting for cream cheese frosting. Also have the cake/icing mixture in the fridge for Cake Pops.I'm going to ice them with pink candy melts and then sprinkle with coloured sugars. Be a nice treat for my pre-Easter lunch potluck tomorrow.
