So what are you all doing for New Years?
Historically, DH and I are asleep at midnight (and DS is asleep WAY before we are). Last year we went to a party at our nearby recreation centre, they opened the pool, gym, etc. when you bought a ticket, you could swim, play basketball, etc. It was fun, over around 8. This year though, a friend I made while on mat leave invited us to her home for a potluck, as well as several other families who we all met the same way, so most of our kids are around the same age. I doubt we'll make it to midnight, but it will be fun! I'm doing a ham in one slow cooker (for the first time), baked beans in another. This thread is currently associated with: N/ALast edited by Zonny; Sat, Dec 29th, 2012 at 07:39 PM.

We'll probably stop up until mid-night with the brood. Mr P will be first-footing for me as usual with at least one of the hatchlings.

We do Chinese take out at a friends with all our kids and spouses. It started years ago as a kid free potluck and has morphed into this as we have all become parents. The kids could last longer than the parents now. Midnight is just too late for me.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Still on Maui with the family. New Years eve will be a lot more laid back then last year when we were on Waikiki Beach enjoying the fireworks with a few thousand other revelers.

Dh and I will just be staying in this year. Still have my cold and don't want to pass it around. We'll enjoy some finger foods, watch a movie, anfd if by some miracle we're still awake near midnight we'll do the countdown with tv
We all need a little sunshine every now and then

We were supposed to go out of town for a hockey game, but getting 40cm of snow today/tonight, we think we'll just play it safe & stay in town. We'll watch the game online & probably order food/make something.

I'm staying in this year and having people over...looking forward to it. We're gonna watch some movies, eat pizza, have lots of snacks and watch the countdowns...Dick Clark and Toronto City Hall and of course drink to celebrate the year that passed and the new year ahead.
