woman sat on my bag on the subway

DH works a 2 hour drive away which means I often have to do the groceries on foot. Today I had a bag full of juice and cans and other stuff. Very heavy

I put it on the subway seat next to me because the floor is covered in salt. There were plenty of seats so I wasn't taking a seat away from someone

This woman walks onto the subway and without saying anything just SITS ON MY BAG. No excuse me can I sit here, no nasty glare to get me to move. Just sits without saying anything. I grab it and move it onto the empty seat next to me. She says thanks. So I tell her if you wanted to sit there all you had to do was say so. Or you know take the empty seat right next to me. I always put my bag on my lap once the subway starts getting full because I think it is rude for a bag to take a seat from a human. There were lots of seats though?!

Then she gets up to another seat and I told her she needs to learn manners. Of course everyone on the subway looks at me like I'm the crazy one. I am so tired of rude idiots like this who think they are so much more important than others. Glad she didn't squish my bread or fruit all over the other food

lol I was trying not to think about that. The reason why I didn't REALLY go into full shaming mode was because half the bag was full of clothes. Luckily that was the part she sat on. But needless to say that stuff is already in the washing machine

Lol on 30 Rock Liz Lemon went on the subway dressed like an old lady and started talking crazy to people so they would give up their seat. I think that explains this lol

hahaha ... maybe she just wanted something comfy to sit on... on a more serious note, I still can't believe someone would do that. Makes me wonder what exactly this world is coming to. I would be seriously embarrassed if I sat on someones groceries on the subway!!

Isn't it awful how rude people are becoming. Everyday it seems I encounter people that are completely clueless in the manner department, and it isn't mostly young people it is usually middle aged people. I just don't get it.

Maybe it is just me, that I am anti-social or something, but I go out of my way not to sit beside anyone on a bus or train. I would rather sit by myself and look out a window.

But I will say that maybe she wasn't quite all there. I had a woman sit two seats away from me on a bus, who seemed perfectly normal. She started running her finger through her hair, and then eating the roots. I just ignored it (although it kind of grossed me out). Then she turns on an angle in her seat, with her back to me, and starts moving backwards. I figure once she is sitting right next to me, she'll stop. Nope. Sits right on my leg. Now I'm thoroughly confused as to what is going on. And she continues to sit there. Once my senses came back I excused myself and stood for the rest of the trip.

As a good friend of mine likes to say, it takes all kinds of people to make the world go round.

Had something equally as annoying as that happen last year on the city bus, except the guy didn't sit on my bag, he sat in my lap. I didn't say anything, just sat there with my face like: O_O and he moved over to the empty seat beside me and said he was sorry.

So rude! I was the same way when I took the bus, if there's plenty of seats then I see no reason why you can't put your bag beside you. People are so weird.... I don't know why they insist on sitting next to you when the bus/train is pretty empty...But maybe I'm the weird one, lol.

It did cross my mind that she may have had a mental illness, but she looked completely fine and did say "thanks" after I moved the bag. She wasn't doing anything else odd. But what do I know, I'm not a doctor. Sorry that happened to you. Sounds gross

Yikes! thats so gross luckily it was just clothes tho. I hate riding the bus, due to the idiots/rude ppl on it. Especially since sometimes I put DD in the stroller. Dont even get me started on how hard it is for ppl ( mostly young ppl) to move so I can put the seat up!
