Suspected ID'd..being guarded in Boston Hospital

Authorities have confirmed to The Post that they have identified a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing.
The suspect — a Saudi national who suffered shrapnel wounds in today's blast — is currently being guarded in a Boston hospital.
A law enforcement source confirmed to The Post that 12 people were killed and nearly 50 were injured in today's blast.

Gosh, how terrible, just watched the news conference.

So many Canadians in the marathon as well - our local radio station has been talking to some of them.

I was out when I heard this on the news. Just horrible. Home now and watching CNN and as others I believe mentioned the updates are according to hospital officials that 2 are dead, 46 injured some critically. Another bomb went off at JFK Library, other active bombs have been found, the Marriott Hotel and other sites evacuated and there are believed to be other active bombs.

So horrible.

Darth, according to the link you posted the NY Times is reporting 12 dead and 50 injured.

I know. I'm not sure where they got that figure from since it's a lot higher than I've been seeing so far..could just be a typo. I posted it mainly for the suspect detail.

I found that interesting because I have CNN on tv right now and they haven't mentioned about a suspect and I'm on all of my news sites that haven't either.

The injured count is 100+ now.

Just checked foxnews.com right now and their banner reads:

Source tells fox news authorities are guarding a "person of interest" in hospital with severe burns.

I would think at this point it would be classified as one, whether domestic or foreign.

Fake Charity Twitter accounts set up

While several explosions have hit the Boston Marathon today, there have been a few Twitter accounts opened, that were alleging they would donate money to the victims of the tragedy for every re-tweet they received.
The catch is these accounts were fake and were just looking to profit off of the publicity coming out of the explosions.
Hundreds of people had been responding to the fake accounts, with many being outraged that individuals would try to use this tragedy as a platform for increasing social presence. One of the fake Twitter accounts can be found through this link here.

Nope..It's all Obama's devious plan to subvert something or other. There's plenty of conspiracy theories popping up on my feeds about it.

As per CNN, the FBI consider the bombings a terrorist attack. Obama will be giving a statement on it at 6:10pm EST.

I just spent the last 20 min trying to get a hold of my friends in Boston. Thankfully they are safe mostly.

Omg I just found out my cousin had finished the race minutes before. Her kids were terrified, she is there from Calgary.

What may prove to be the difference between life and death for some of the injured is the fact that so many EMT's are present at the finish line. As well as National Guard, police, fire and ambulances right there.
