[Updated at 2:33 p.m. ET] There is conflicting information as to whether someone has been arrested in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings.

A federal law enforcement source told CNN's Fran Townsend that someone was arrested. But two senior administration officials and another federal official then told Townsend that there had been a misunderstanding among officials and that no one has been arrested.

Brookline hospital, or part of it, in Boston, is being evacuated.
Street cordoned off....could suspect be taken from hospital to custody? Just speculalating...

This is so sad & tragic.The little chap who was killed also had his Mother brain damaged by the blast & his sister lost a leg.That poor Father is still trying to be positive. Bless them all who suffered in this terrible explosion,so sick!.

i agree, Anisa. A home-grown terrorist. Hubby thinks it may have been used as a diversion from the gun debate. Otoh, it could just be one more crazy on the loose with no egenda at all.

Wow. Right now the city of Boston is in a total lockdown as they hunt the second suspect. Both suspects were being pursued lastnight and one of them killed a cop but thankfully Suspect #1 was killed. Now the hunt is on for the second one.

Accomplished medical student. Go figure. As far as I understand it they were not US citizens but were in the United States legally.
