Deal of the week at RCSS

Went to RCSS tonight and they have a sign at all the cash registers stating a "deal of the week" if the cashier does not mention it to you then you get the item for FREE. This week it was band-aids, my cashier didnt mention deal and I got a pack for free.

Do you know if this policy is nation wide? i have never been asked. I live in AB BTW. Also, do you know if Extra Foods has this policy as well? Thanks!

I wondered why they are always pushing an item at the till. Now I'm going to pay attention.

In Quebec Maxi, I got a free Crest 3D White toothpaste today. A couple of weeks ago, I got a free Banana Boat sunscreen.

I took a peek at their tills once, and on the sign it says DEAL OF THE WEEK and on the till and the thing they use to deduct coupons/void stuff etc. there's fluorescent papers saying DON'T FORGET TO ASK ABOUT DEAL OF THE WEEK. So they're really trying hard to make them remember

Not sure if it is nationwide. Look out at the register when you are checking out. It was posted at all the cash registers, not throughout the store. Also not sure about Extra Foods. Sorry.

Lol, I never got asked before about the deal of the week; However, one time, I did ask about the deal of the week, the cashier said "I was just going to tell you about the deal of the week." In the end, I didn't get my freebie. I never tried since.

But some of the cashiers don't care about pushing the deal...especially the young ones. I wonder if they get in trouble if they don't mention it?

I live on PEI, and shop at Atlantic Superstore, and we have that here too! I've gotten afew things free!

so what do you do or say if they don't offer you the deal of the week? there have been a few times I was not offered but did not know what to do?
