Some optometrist are so crappy and not willing to spend enough time to exam their patients. They just base it loosely on the read out from the machine but I know for a fact that it's not 100 % accurate. In my case, the optometrist sees the print out and said "your presciption changed" and I said "I don't notice any changes at all". Sure enough got my prescription and has new glasses made and couldn't see the distant (blurry). Have to spent another $100 to see another optometrist, luckily the lab is willing to redo my glasses for free. I will never go back to the first optometrist who gave me the wrong presciption and have the gall to tell me that I have to pay a second fee if my prescription was the same as what prescribed the first time.
When a patient can't see with the new prescription due to your incompetent at least have the decency to re check my eyes for free. (I should have complained but just let it go...not worth increasing my stress level)
Point is get a new optometrist if you can't see properly...he/she is not doing a good job.
On the reading glass part, I see better with a cheap reading glasses over my progressive glasses...my theory is when the optometrist ask you what your normal reading distance is you need to bring the reading material closer (like when you trying to thread a needle) otherwise it's still blurry when you try to see upclose.Last edited by Decaf; Fri, Jun 27th, 2014 at 11:14 PM.

We've had a rule since we met that we "handle our own family", but I'm seriously at my breaking point. My DH is an amazing guy who can easily be walked over. Sad thing is he probably won't even bring this up to either of his brothers AND they will continue this type of behavior. DH chalks it up to them being "fair weather friends", if you around then they hang out with you, if you're not then they couldn't be bothered. Sad they treat family that way. They are like grown man children (in their 30s with kids but still go drinking with their friends every night) and DH is not, so he's often left out. Obviously it's totally fine most of the time but for big life events? Not cool they couldn't invite him!
I'm still super pissed! Trying to decide what to do... Let it go or lose it! lol

One of dd's friends has come to call on her 4 times in the past 2 hours. What part of she's at her grandmas and won't be back until tomorrow night doesn't she understand?

Dd needed dental work done this week, needed a cap, white ones are $250 so I opted for silver. My mom mentions AFTER the work that she would have paid for it and " hopes dd doesn't get picked on in school for it "
feeling like the worst person in the world.

I didn't even think they had the silver ones anymore. My dentist doesn't. I have always gotten the white ones even as a kid. But back then they were more expensive and less common then they are now. (My dad worked for CN (hasn't worked there in decades though) and my mom is an RN at the local hospital so I'm pretty sure they had very good medical coverage though.)
anyway you you aren't the worts parent in the world. You got her the filling that fit your budget nothing wrong with that. There are parents out there that don't get their kids any dental care and/or just get problem teeth pulled.Last edited by francine1985; Sat, Jun 28th, 2014 at 10:16 PM.

Don't feel like a bad parent, you got what needed to be done at a price you could afford. I would go with the same option for my girls. I doubt she's going to get picked on, kids aren't going around examining each other's teeth and the silver ones really aren't noticeable unless you point them out.

I started using Windows 8 Christmas 2012, hated it, went back to Windows 7 in August, and then really started to miss how fast Windows 8 boots and also the ease of installing certain types of applications to deal with file extensions. Needless to say I am back on Windows 8 and I can really appreciate a lot of the split screening options, and what I can now see as user friendliness. I do a lot of developing and website work so I am always trying out new operating systems but I know Windows 7 is industry standard.
To make a long story short, it took me a year to move over to Windows 8 and to truly appreciate some of it's functionality, but I love it.

Not sure if this is a good place for this post but I recently went two weeks without washing my hair while using home remedies (not because I couldn't afford to coupon shampoo, but since I wanted to try alternatives for coping with my hair which always feels a little too greasy).
I found the two weeks went good but I decided to go back to shampoo, after a week of being back on shampoo my mother told me "You need to start using shampoo again, you hair looks really dirty". She said it looked fine during the two weeks though.
She also took the time to criticize me for dyeing my eyebrows, which I had never even considered doing let alone actually did.
I am not sure if my mother is blind, or I really look ass-backwards.

I want to scream. I'm trying to sell some lululemon stuff on a facebook group locally, and EVERYONE who comes to look at it seems to be an idiot. This one girl said she'd come today in the afternoon, showed up around 4, and said she'd ask her boyfriend about a pair of pants. She had to go to work, and said she'd be off at about 9. I said my parents would be in bed by 10, and it took me messaging her at 10:40 to see what the hell was going on.
I wasted 2 hours sitting waiting for her, and she then had the audacity to tell me her boyfriend thought the $25 I was asking for the pants was too much and wanted to offer me $10. They're $100 new! F OFF. If your idiot boyfriend thinks $10 is the max he wants to spend on pants, GO TO WALMART. Don't go looking at brand-name pants for him if 75% off of normal retail is still too much for him/you.
Then she finally tells me she didn't get paid. UGH. WHY PEOPLE, WHY. Is selling on ebay any good? So sick of bending over backwards for people.

First the doctor's office doesn't open their phone lines on time. Then I do get through and wait almost 15 minutes on hold and still the phone isn't answered.

OMG!!! A sinkhole just opened up along my fence line just beside our abandoned waterwell. The hole is the size of one of my horse's hooves. By the looks of it, the ground gave way underneath the horses foot. He managed to get himself out. I looked into the hole with a flashlight and the hole opens up into a massive cavran . I have it roped off and the hole covered with a steel plate. But until July 2nd, I will have to stick very close and watch for any critters getting near it. It's scary thinking that the ground you walk on isn't as solid as you like to think!
