when you spend a lot of money of fancy feast cans and the cupboard is packed solid. now 4 out of 4 cats hate fancy feast or decided they don't want it. I can handle one cat cause they change but all four. Bought whiskas trays - found 3 of the new coupons so now I have those. I opened two cans of Fancy Feast and they all said no - then opened the trays and still ok but they all left food.

4 cats up for adoption...

the roofer was here looking at our roof...been leaking for months....he said the "nest" was just leaves & debris ;-) but bad news ... the chimny is cracked badly & we need to replace as this MAY be where water is coming from...amoung other places. i swear this house is cursed!

this is a sad rant. I am both sad but annoyed!
DH was able to catch and release ( a humane trap, no pain involved ) a big ole Rocky Racoon on the w/e.
Out attached neighbour was pleased as were we.

until late last night.......I heard the cries, the " trilling " sound and had it confirmed that 5 wee babies are under the deck.
Seems Rocky was a Rockette!

Two of the pups ventured out onto the walkway around 2:30 in the morning and DH was able to pick them up easily ( thick leather work gloves on ) and into a tall plastic bucket they went......oh there wee faces are enough to make you cry!

He had previously dropped the Mom in the Rouge area but I did not want him driving and walking around down there at 3 in the morning, so he took them across to the park area here over a big fence to a grassy stretch.

Now three remain and they have been crying all day long. I know they more than likely will not survive but we have no way of collecting them in the same catch and taking them to a wildlife rescue ( shift workers do not have that option ) .

o.k. my sad rant is over.

This is absolutely horrible!!! The babies should have at least been tried to hav been returned to the mother who will now be frantic. So the mother and all the babies will now perish as a result of this stupid and selfish action - best to leave this type of thing to experts!!!!!

They had no idea there were babies when the adult was caught days before.

hey guys....I just read all the comments posted about our very upsetting situation with those wee raccoon babies. I did NOT have to share in a post about what had happened here, but I knew MOST members would understand that WE HAD NO IDEA THERE WERE BABIES UNDER THERE!!!!

The one member who did not understand that has had a beef with me in particular because I placed him on ignore when he used to be another member on here....bwahahaha!!!!!

@walkonby will the local animal rescue come to you?

I only ask as we have one in our area and I was unaware until recently in a situation like this they will come out and try to collect the babies and take them back the rescue.

We had a number of nests locally upset during the windstorm and for anyone with concerns they came out checked on the animals and if it was clear to them the mother was gone they collected the babies.
