I think if you are Jamaican it might seem racist and I am certain if he put on a kippa and sang Fiddler on the Roof you would say it was anti-semitic.

Just like whitey saying the "N" word.

Exactly Patty. I know some Afro-Carribbeans find it racist in many ways and I'm sure there are a few who find it highly amusing .

But for an outsider to equate using a different language which is one Mr Ford has no personal or cultural reference to not being racist regardless as to what was said is highly patronising. Especially as Mr Ford has been reported many times saying and writing sentiments which straddle the border between being insensitive to being outright racist. Mr Ford's history isn't stellar on the issue.

I wouldn't think its anti semitic. I think its cool for example when this theatre in Japan did it.

It's one thing to be in a threatre where every one is a willing part of the system of unreality.

But another when some-one like David Irving performed it in a fast food joint for the amusement of his drinking buddies...

You know what's actually highly patronising? People taking offense on behalf of another group they have no connection to and who don't need or want you to be their saviour. You, a brit living in Quebec, taking offense on behalf of Jamaicans like they can't defend themselves if they feel that an offense has been made. That's you acting patronising toward Jamaicans - patronising, culturalist and racist that you believe they need you to defend them. They're perfectly capable of doing so themselves if need be. I understand it coming from you though, the British Empire has a long history of treating all others as inferiors (some inferiors to be defended, some to be exploited), and you cannot outgrow your ingrained upbringing and resultant belief in your own superiority.

Ford is now being sued by his sister's former common law spouse. Scott MacIntyre alleges Ford consipired with the former Don Bosco assistant coach and a former player to have him beaten while he was in jail. He also claims that he is the subject of the video taped rant of Ford saying he was going to kill someone.

Mr Ford ticketed in Vancouver for 'jaywalking'

Ford’s press secretary Amin Massoudi confirmed to Global News that Ford received a ticket for jaywalking, but said he did not receive any other ticket or citation.
“He said ‘I thought it was looser on the West Coast, I thought you were cooler over here,’” Currie told Global News. “We said, ‘it’s still the RCMP, man.’”

An RCMP regional duty officer said: “As there is no public safety issue in this matter, we are unable to confirm or deny anything.
“In a situation where there is a celebrity involved, that is the policy.”
The fine for jaywalking is $109.
Ford was walking on North Road, a busy road dividing the municipalities of Burnaby and Coquitlam, when an officer stopped him. The officer reportedly ticketed Ford outside a Shell gas station north of Lougheed Highway, where a large crowd began to form.

I read some comments on the National Post facebook page saying Ford was targeted for the jay-walking ticket. As a resident of metro Vancouver I find it highly amusing that people think he is more than a blip on the radar out here. Good for entertainment for a few of us but certainly not someone that is of such importance that anyone is likely to be out looking for ways to get him in trouble. Knowing the intersection where he jay-walked, I have to say that you would have to be drunk or stupid to do so at that particular spot.

Thanks for the insight. I doubted that he was targeted but I did wonder if he happened to be the only one who was ticketed but it seems like its a common occurence at the intersection.

Yeah, I was just fooling around. I voted for our mayor twice. Once when he ran in the Federal election (didn't win - damn you Mark Eyking!) and most recently when he ran for mayor. Good man.

So the OPP believe ford was the victim of a blackmail attempt and Toronto police believe ford attempted blackmail. And the OPP will decide if charges are laid.............
