Maybe the companies are finding that even after they offer free products their sales don't go up since people are no longer "trying before buying" but rather grabbing just to donate/give away. I mean the whole purpose of it is to increase product sales in the long run, right?

This makes a ton of sense.. a lot of people abusing with messing up their address and getting a trillion of the same freebie ..

They probably get a lot of complaints that turn them off too.
When samples are really limited, or something like the Dairy Milk FPC promo (where you had to find the bar on some random website), it means a lot of people don't get to participate because they are too late, even if they click right away. So then they get big backlash about how their promos are unfair.

What would be fair? Not giving out anything!

The goal of companies is to promote their products so that they can sell more. The goal of couponers is to get as much as possible for as little as possible. These goals are obviously in conflict with each other.
When "Extreme Couponing" came on, the popularity of coupons increased and with it there has been no shortage of advice about how to be absolutely ridiculous with coupons. Then, when companies try to set reasonable limits, they get all kinds of negative publicity.
If I were a manufacturer, I would find different ways of promoting my products. There's no way I would want to deal with all the hassle that goes with putting out coupons.

I have pretty much given up trying to get free product coupons from Facebook. Most times, i spend time filling out forms and giving them access to my information only to find out that the coupons are all gone. too frustrating so I rarely bother anymore... though I am always envious when people get them.

I find in general I never really got a lot of freebies, I found most are available on Facebook and are offered M to F 9 to 5 which is when I am at work. We are not allowed to access Facebook at work and since my phone is supplied by work same goes for my phone no access to Facebook. But even than from what I hear you cannot access most freebies on a phone. So really 9 times out of 10 I missed all freebies because I was at work.

The bonus is that your cell phone is free from work. Makes up for the lack of other freebies!

my issue is they do 9am east coast.. what is 6 am west coast.. and i'm usually unable to get on the computer till 11am west coast what works out to 2pm east coast and all freebies are long gone

I don't have facebook -don't wish to have it so I get no free coupons form that source-who cares I dont

I personally am happy with whatever freebie I can get. I don't sign up for the ones I won't use, unless I know somebody who will benefit from it. I won't sign up for baby stuff, since my son is now 4yrs old and we're not having any more kids... I won't sign up for reflux products, because we don't have reflux... etc... I take what I can get, and what I will use...

Oh, Yeah, that is so true. I missed a lot due time zone. I think they should alocate different amounts to different time zones.
