On DVD....
The Rewrite with Hugh Grant, Marisa Tomei, J.K. Simmons (one of the best actors around IMO), Allison Janney 5/10. What a waste of this talented bunch of actors.
The Galapagos Affair: Satan came to Eden 9/10
Interesting documentary on an unsolved disappearance/murder in the 1930s.

The Man From UNCLE - 4/10
I can see why this was a tv series rather than a movie. There was no real character development and no chemistry within the cast.

Self/less 8/10
I quite liked this movie. A dying man transfers his consciousness into a younger body. But not everything was as explained. Stars Ryan Reynolds and Ben Kingsley.
It was amusing to see two Downton alums... Lady Mary and her new beau.

Has anyone seen this movie? I thought I knew every Christmas movie out there, but this one is new to me; I just noticed it on the amazon.ca sale site...Anyway, for anyone who loves Christmas movies, I thought I'd pass along this rather obscure one...
Oh! I just noticed it's available, full-length on the internet, but I don't know which sites are good or bad, lol...This one seems to work..

@Lynn49 The Christmas Candle is a wonderful, moving movie - I've seen it a few times. You will fall in love with the Reverend! Susan Boyle's singing is awesome, and she has a small acting part. Have tissues ready when the Christmas wishes are revealed in church toward the end.
BTW, Max Lucado's Christmas books for kids are fabulous.Last edited by Natalka; Mon, Nov 9th, 2015 at 08:56 PM.

I watched a Simon Pegg movie called Absolutely Anything. I'd give it a 5/10
They could have done a bit more with it, in my opinion. Written by one of the Monty Python crew in which they're all voice actors. They play aliens who bestow powers to wish for 'absolutely anything' on Pegg's character. What he does with his new powers will determine if the planet needs to be destroyed or not.

Crimson Peak. Not much of a horror movie and i'm a big scaredy cat; it was more romantic than scary. Predictable. I give it 3/10
