Cutest picture ever!
I've been thinking about you this evening. I know you feel like you really want a Staffordshire and that's totally understandable. But if you aren't able to find one, I wonder if maybe it would help you to go to your local Humane Society. You just might find a dog there that really needs you and that you fall in love with.

I am so sorry for you loss.
The kitten is adorable though. Love the pic of your dog licking the kitty.

I wasn't thinking you were being selfish at all! I believe that whatever dog you bring home will be loved and well-cared for, whether it's a "rescue" or not. So where you get it from doesn't matter to me.
I suggested the Humane Society in case your first choice doesn't work out (because you said that the breed you really want is hard to find.) My concern was for you, not the dogs at the pound.

Sorry Abbasgirl. I didn't mean to offend you. I know you had the kindest intentions. I would have said the exact same thing.
But actually I think it IS a bit selfish of me because there ARE a lot of animals out there that need love. I usually try to think of others but this one time I'm going to accept that i can be selfish this once.
That said, I don't even know if I'll ever scrape up the money for it. They cost $1500 ! Yikes. It remains to be seen. . .
I took Fat Reggie to Grandma's tonight so I could have just one full night's sleep. I have chronic insomnia, so the feedings are taking a bit of a toll. I don't mind though. . .TOTALLY worth it when I kiss that fuzzy wuzzy little head. lol

hate to sound cruel as a veterinarian but the SPCA will just put him to sleep. The best is try a syringe with the nozzle on the side not the middle and the kitten milk you can buy at the stores add a little cornsyrup and he may go for it.As he gets older star adding a little paplum and go from there or try one of those rubber finger cots they use for counting money etc,I don't know f thats the right name for them.Hope the little guy makes it.I raised a smaller baby squirrel that way and a crow.

What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.

Hate to sound cruel but as a large animal veterinarian the SPCA is just going to put him to sleep.Try a syringe with the nozzle on one side not in the middle, try the kitten milk in the stores add a little corn syrup and he may go for it as he gets the hang of it add a tiny bit of paplum and go from there.I raised out about a week old baby squrriel who lives around my neck and a baby crow that way.Crow rules the barn.Or try one of those bumpy finger cots(with a pinhole in it)no matter what you can get him to eat don't overflood him with the food as it may go into his lungs.God bless you for trying and hope the little guy makes it.

I wasn't offended. I was afraid that you were!
Sometimes I hate communicating through typing! It can be so hard to see what the other person is feeling. I just wish I could reach through my computer screen and give you a big hug instead! As a fellow animal lover I really feel for you because of your loss. Hang in there! The right dog will come along.

I hope so. . . . I have my doubts finding a dog as amazing as bruno.
Here's his pic. BTW All his "kid friends" have a little saying for him. They just loved saying it. It always made them giggle.
"He looks like a cow, snorts like a pig and is dumb as a rock" They meant that in an affectionate way of course. ha ha
