Oiy. How to mess up a summer in ONE EASY STEP! Or...it should have been an easy step. But I had to complicate things.
Walks, you pegged Jenny perfectly...that pup is identical to her and it's the first little face I see each morning now...hubby is sleeping in the guest/computer room so as not to disturb my sleep. So Jenny remains my only bed-mate now and it's me calling for my hubby in the middle of the night. For those of us my age, we don't have to guess why. The rain has stopped, I'm in the recliner in our bedroom, window open, and the smell of lilacs my friend brought over yesterday fills the room.
I just had breakfast, since I had a bad night, all the while little Jenny has been hopping on her two little squat legs, a look of panic only a Doxie can wear, hoping to get up on my lap. Hubby then brought her lap pillow and plunked her on my lap where she's pleasantly snoring in complete contentment. I'm expecting my phisio gal today and I do have a concern to discuss with her: my foot feels numb and tingly...could my foot cast be too tight?
Well, off to attempt my trip down the 4 stairs (did I mention that I fell on the last step yesterday? Does a world of good for my confidence!) to the livingroom for a while, then a nap...yes, life is full...
Thank you you all for your sweet and kind thoughts....you make me smile and forget to feel sorry for myself.....

Sorry to hear that your "walk-about" resulted in a fall! Yikes! Also hoping that your day was "moving in the right direction."

Heidi-ho! Well, I'm on...or rather...in, my second cast.
Yep, went to emerg Tues afternoon around 3pm, and by 10:30pm I was back on the orthopaedic floor in a room, after having my cast cut in half, dopplered to check for blood-clots (which I didn't think it was, since I inject myself every morning with Lovenox), and had a good night's sleep without a screamer in the room. We'd morning I met with my surgeon, who is a hoot, reminds me so much of our DD, chatted about all the lovely damage I did in that fall, saw an x-Ray of the area just below my knee with all the screws holding a front plate onto my tibia, then she told the guys who were to put on a new cast to pack lots of gel-packs into it, which they did, and it feels much better. For a cast that weighs approx 153 lbs!!
I thought fibreglass, esp in hot pink, wouldn't be this heavy. Wrong again. Still.
Soooo, my long-suffering hubby is waiting on me hand and leg, little Jenny, like in the photo Walks posted, continues to be at my side, on on my lap when I'm sitting in the recliner. DD is in Ottawa until the weekend at a conference, and happy news, is being rewarded with 74 other FPs with a trip to San Francisco this year! She's taking her hubby, even tho they won't see much of each other, so that he can rent a car and drive hwy #1, which I didn't know even existed. I do miss her already..she's my cheerleader...
Nap time. I'll fall asleep watching the American Heroes channel....probably the Military Channel on our livingroom tv.
Take good care of yourselves, and go for a nice walk, not taking that little blessing for granted....Last edited by Lynn49; Wed, Jun 4th, 2014 at 02:16 PM.

Given no choice in the matter, we go thru whatever we have to, Natalka, and you're a strong woman and a woman of faith...you would do just fine. And although I do have those "poor me" sucky moments (usually when hopping on one foot with the walker to go to the washroom), I know there are worse out there and remember that I really am blessed...
