It looks like I have great timing, we just received our new dehydrator last week which is so going to pay for itself within weeks if this keeps up, below is what I got on clearance to test out my new dehydrator

    The break down as follows:
    Tomatoes $0.49 @ No Frills
    Ginger $0.49 @ No Frills
    Onions $0.79 @ No Frills

    Pineapple $1.25 @ Food Basics
    Lemons $2.00 @ Food Basics

    Bananas $0.285/lb = $0.82 @ RCSS

    Total for everything $5.82

I cannot wait to try to make my own onion and ginger powder.

OMG I have to tell you I dehydrate ginger and then put it through the spice grinder and use it as tea, there is nothing like fresh ginger tea.

Congrats on your deals. Love banana chips too.

What awesome finds - good luck drying stuff.

We would just eat all that as it is within a few days - except the ginger.

Just be warned your house gets onion breath lol.. one time I dehydrated 50 lbs of onions because my kids hated onion. It was the only way I could add it to soups and stews.. When I stood outside my house I could smell onion for about a week after ..

I was expecting it to be horrible but found it was not worse than when we cook something with a lot of onion but I was lucky I did have fans going the doors open so maybe that helped.

No we did not we found the cheapest place to buy it, but it was not local so we decided for $5 more it well worth having amazon ship it because it would have been way more in gas to go pick up.
