Enjoy every moment! My husband has a sister in Germany - about an hour away from Stuttgart. I've seen pics, so very beautiful!
Have some schnitzel and strudel for me in Germany, macarons in Paris, and some patat in Amsterdam!

Hi everyone!
So glad it was a cooler day today - nice relief from all the heat of the past week.
Big shopping these past few days - we really have had to get groceries of all types, and hit some good sales as well. More this week, too. We've really been lacking in the meat dept., so have to bite the bullet and get more. I love chicken, but even I have been getting tired of it...
Hope everyone is doing well!

dh & Jaden only left an hour ago as the weather made it difficult for them to get packed up in the rain yesterday. Logan and FIL will be heading up late this evening, they will all meet up at the cottage and sleep their tonight and head up to the camp tomorrow am. Can't wait to be alone and only have myself to please

Cooking up 4lbs of beef into taco meat for the freezer. Making the other 4 lbs into burger patties for the freezer and for our camping trip next weekend. The rest I wrapped and put in freezer for future use. Grass is cut and I am debating if I'm doing laundry to hang to dry. Overcast out. Not the sunshine e I was expecting

Went shopping yesterday, and went over the budget by $20, nothing I could do, everything is just more expensive now, plus I have very little coupons to use on the things I buy. And with back to school coming up, it's going to get even more expensive.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

1st load of laundry hanging to dry and 2nd in machine. The sun is shining finally so figured I should do laundry. Going to pop out to superstore to pick up laundry soap (pm SDM and have coupons). Keep myself stocked up since there always seems to be laundry to do. Had a late night. ( we were given another free buffet coupon for the casino) so we went. Played for hours and broke even. And free dinner. So good night out. Better then snoozing on the couch.

What is your cheap dinner fix/meal???
I've been trying to stay away from packaged foods/frozen meals at the grocery store but looking at the following I'm really started to wonder, anyone else
2lbs of ground beef - $2.00 a pound if lucky + $2.00 for buns if on sale = $6.00 +tx plus extras of tomatoes, lettuce, etc and a side dish
compared to
$4.98 for a box of Jane's chicken fingers or nuggets at GT this week which gives us a family of 4 - 2 meals so = $2.50 plus side dish of ????
it's cheaper to buy the frozen chicken fingers this week instead of chicken breast food this week (sigh)
A package of 5 chicken breast w/bone in = $11.00 if cooking as chicken breast = 1 meal @ $11.00 + side
but if cooking something like sweet n' sour chicken = 2 meals at $5.50 + side
Anyone else shaking their heads in wonder & confusion!!!2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

I try not to buy packaged stuff. My guys could split a box of janes between them lol. But I may buying a box this week since I haven't in a long time. I try to plan my meals around the sales. Sometimes we do without till the sale. I try and stock up as best I can on sale items so we have stuff when needed. And my oldest is picky ( he does not like pasta!) so he sucks lol. Eggs are a great filler. Sometimes I just make eggs and toast and hash browns for dinner. (Omelettes). I really need to plan ahead so stuff is ready on hockey night for us on the go and for ds that doesn't like to come to the arena. Homemade Mac and cheese will be a must in my freezer for my hockey player. I can put in Tupperware and heat at work and feed him at arena before practise.

Still Nancy I think of a bic Mac combo for $10. ( it is that expensive at our mcdonalds) and you are feeding your family for less then that and know what is in their burger. Still pretty good!
