Looks like I won't be able to make Monday morning's coupon swap. I know, I know....I can hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth from here....

I went into Walmart yesterday, but got up early and went in when they opened at 7am. It was very peaceful.

I agree with monkey. Mind u, our city is getting bigger, that means more ppl seeking cpns, plus ever since the extreme couponing show appears, more are aware the power of couponing and might start picking up this hobby.

So far, I have been blessed with finding enough cpns to survive. On top of that, if one gets a chance to join our monthly swap, our generous fellow SCalgarians are more than happy to share our found.

Someone (s) out there is/are swiping huge stacks of tearpads; I was at Sobeys in Coventry Hills on Thurs. and they had just put out the new SS coupons - went back this evening (as I heard about the 0.75 Armstrong cheese coupons and wanted to check for them) and entire pads of the new coupons were gone. I've found myself having to rely more and more on rainchecks due to the huge influx of coupon use and "clearing of shelves."
BTW if anyone has found the Armstrong cheese coupons in North Calgary I'd love to know where. Sobeys in Coventry doesn't have them and neither does Sobeys on 32nd Ave NE.

I went to royal oak walmart tonight wow! insane line ups through the women clothing. The cashier said yesterday was worse and they were using janitors to work the tills. The lady beside at the check outs had a cart full of tide, but when she came out she only had like 6 (she was parked near us) so I am glad they are cracking down. I only wanted 2 tide and bounce sheets but they had no bounce sheets and no HE tide.

Hubby has to go to Edmonton Monday for a board meeting, and asked if I wanted to come with him. We've been really busy lately and it feels like we haven't had much time for each other, so spending the 6 hour round trip in the car with just the two of us isn't such a bad idea. Plus, my MIL is currently in the hospital in Red Deer so we'll pop in to see her on our way back home. She was diagnosed with terminal cancer this spring, and hit a road bump 2 weeks ago and she's been hospitalized ever since. We've travelled to Red Deer every couple of days for the past 2 weeks, and this would be a good opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.

$4.97 each x 2 = $9.96 less $3 P&G coupon = $6.96 for 2 or $3.48 each. We used to do better when we could stack P&G coupons, but it's not bad. I noticed they put a maximum number (6 for Tide) on a bunch of these items, and I'm guessing it's so that people aren't clearing the shelves. I was quite happy with my 6 bottles, and am kicking myself for not getting 6 bottles of Downy too.

Sorry, Goddess, now I feel so bad about my joke.

My friend whom I have known for 20 years just passed away two days ago. Stage four cancer. He is in his early fifty but has been diagnosed and struggled a few years back. Now the wife is all alone, no kids. And she doesn't drive.

This feels so heavy on my heart. I have been kicking myself not doing enough for them. I did help them shovel snow and get grocery here and there but there were time when it was -40 with windshield that I was too lazy to move my behind, I waited, hoping the weather would get better before I go shovel their driveway and found that his wife already did it all by herself. They have long driveway and she is tiny.
