Wow, thanks for sharing. I never knew that member save is on top of the 50% off. I would have gotten great deals. I usually buy meat that is on sale, cook it and freeze it in smaller portions. Will have to rush to Sobeys tomorrow..

I ended up going this morning and while I got 50% off plus members deal on extra lean ground beef and drumsticks, I didn't get it on all the steaks.
I'm going to have to check into this later. The other problem I have is they tell you what the members discount is per pound but all the stickers on the meats are per kilo. How are we supposed to figure it out when they're using two different weights? They are making shopping really difficult!

Great deals. I hardly ever go to Sobeys but I might start just popping in there to have a look once in a while. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome deals. I find my Sobeys has meat discounts Sunday evenings. Make sense, they stock up on their meat on sale on the weekends, and i usually check the shelf live on most of the stickers....So if I know the Best before date is Tuesday, I go Mondays. I find the best discounts are usually Sunday though............

I emailed Sobey's because 3 of my items were only discounted 50% and didn't reflect the member's instant saving. I gave the product numbers and the manager wrote back and said they were right and that the items I bought didn't qualify for instant savings. The deals were still good, but I would swear he's wrong. What pushed me to buy them was that there was 50% off PLUS instant savings for being a member. It's very confusing so just make sure you are buying exactly what is marked on the card that describes the meat and the price. The other problem is the metric vs imperial measurements, there is no good reason why they shouldn't use both metric and imperial both on the sticker on the package and the product card on the shelf. Add into it the way the flyer has been set up the past few weeks and the customer is really forced to do a lot more work than is necessary.
