Dinner done and kitchen almost clean. Taco meat simmering on the stove. Yippee. Dinner will be easy to get on table tomorrow night. I will make taco salad so no wraps/ bread for me. Lazy night tonight. ( I give this night to be lazy since up at 5am for ds's hockey this morning. I get stuff done when we get home in morning so can be tired on couch tonight.

Well the butcher called back and apparently dh's bull moose had pneumonia (only us) anyways they need to throw out 1 of the front quarters which is fine they sent me pictures so I could see as I couldn't drive down but very grateful that the rest of the moose is fine....when she told me I thought she meant the whole thing was garbage my heart was *****ing and flopping.

Had to change my meal plan as my chicken breast were only the carcass for soup (need to pay more attention when labelling). So we had fried ham which was a nice change, then made 2 apple crisp pies as I was still thinking about the leftovers as MIL's , I will freeze 1 for another day when we are craving sweets and don't feel like cooking.

Tomorrow I really should make some cookies, going to take the butter out just incase as a little nudge.

Looking forward to watching Survivor tonight.

Someone is coming to see our trailer on Sunday (fingers crossed) as we could really use that $ these days.

Mrs. S. I have an upright freezer and a chest my meat variety is in my upright and my chest is for excess like the 3 turkeys (lol) and a ton of French fries (I got for free) and also onion (again free) BUT my upright is my go to favorite, HOWEVER, I do rotate both my freezers frequently so things don't get missed or wasted and it's working for us. I'm going to ask the butcher once wrapped to put in their freezer as there is no way I could spread our share out in the 2 freezers and have it freeze in a reasonable time

    Wising everyone a relaxing evening.

Yesterday morning hubby was cleaning up the flowerbed and cut the cable so we were without TV and internet til noon today. Forgot to ask when I called if there will be a charge for that.

This morning we went to renew our mortgage. They`re letting us renew 6 months early without a penalty in order to take advantage of lower interest rates.

This afternoon I got my eyes checked and ordered my new glasses. Thank goodness they do 2 for 1. I always get reading glasses too because I like to read in bed and progressives just don`t work for that. So $598 later... I took a chance and got them at Zehrs...anyone I`ve talked to that got glasses there seemed happy with them.
@Andi will remember your friend in my prayers.
@nancy Sounds like you`ll have lots of meat. Kudos to DH for kicking that guy out.

Crochetlady what bank are you with? I'd love to renew our mortgage early but was worried about paying the penalty. We have 1 year left but hoping to renew 6 months early too. That would be awesome if our bank would do the same! (We're with Scotiabank).

    Good morning, everyone.

Have to go to the eye specialist today and get zapped (when they did the surgery for the detached retina back in the spring, the eye got a wee bit jostled and now needs to have a bit of scar tissue cleaned up before I can have a cataract removed). Fun times. On the plus side, since I'm not allowed to go home alone from the hospital (even more fun - minor zap is done in hospital, more complex surgery will be done at a clinic ), my Mom & bff will be coming to get me and have dinner with me (my Mom is bringing me schnitzel). If I vanish for a day or so, it's because I'm blind as a bat or too stuffed from eating to move, so not to worry.

Brats are waiting patiently for breakfast, so better get going.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
