Not really related; but with all that's going on with Target in Canada; I was kind of irked yesterday watching Ellen and Target gave a young couple $50K for no reason (other than they were struggling financially - but working nonetheless).....that's a lot of money....what about all the people out of a job thanks to Target Canada ??

Strolled into Target this morning on our way to my afternoon painting class...10% off. I can NOT believe the people standing in LONG lines for a measily 10% off!!! That doesn't even cover the tax!!
Cosmetics is 30% off, which might be decent on some products that usually tend not to go on sale, but personally, I'll wait until it's 75+% off before I consider purchasing anything. I don't need anything badly enough to pay anything more....It breaks my heart that Target is leaving and I'm forced back to Walmart for incidentals...ugh!!!

This video for this weeks US Target deals, is a good memory of the kinds of deals we use to get. There are some differences in coupons available and stacking that they do there.

Remember deals on TV DVDs, toys, school supplies, mascara, Glade, Febreeze car clips and toilet tissue

Interesting shopping video. She kind of lost me over her Up&Up coupon shop for office supplies. You get what you pay for.

Think she's right about working off the excess energy in the parking lot--warm ups are good for muscles.

I bought some cosmetics today.....Revlon foundation which costs $19.99 at Shoppers is retailing at Target for $14.99 before the 30% discount.....so I got one today. Same with Maybelline concealer...listed as more at Shoppers than Target and than the 30%. The Cover Girl powder is gone :-(. While I understand waiting I would prefer getting what I like now at 30%. The nail section is 30% as well as travel sizes....and is almost gone. Didn't have to wait in line at all today even though it is a Saturday.

I just drove past a target and had the same thought, I will wait them out until they go to 75% off.

I would also like to say, I do feel bad for the employees at Target who will lose their jobs. That is a very unfortunate, because more people will be joining the unemployment line

If it keeps up with the current crowds, there won't be anything left by then.. well, anything you would want.

In my local paper on Friday Target took out a huge full page ad promoting their liquidation sale. Funny thing is; there isn't a Target anywhere near me. I haven't been to a Target store since they opened in Canada. Why don't they just "save" their money instead of doing something useless like that (or give it to their employees they're laying off) ?

I'm sure it was the liquidator who placed the ad. They probably placed it in all of the local papers that fall under one company. If you're in West Van, there are lots of Targets a short drive away.

The liquidator had to be confident of getting court approval for the liquidation sale and in placing ads, given that local papers have a deadline about one week prior to publication for ads.

Was just in the Ancaster, ON store-no Ava & Viv plus size womenswear on the sales floor. Though the Valentine's Day and Easter Treats are in a section right at the front of womenswear.
