I believe only sale items are final sale at forever 21? Not 100% sure but I think so.

Yep it's only sale items(same as in store).
I'm like you and buy almost everything I can online with discount codes and free shipping, and just return what I don't like. My toddler is not patient enough for me to wander around the mall trying stuff on, plus I find things always look better in the store mirrors than they do out of the store.

“We’ve built our business model to be incredibly competitive with the lowest-priced leaders in Canada,” Tony Fisher, president of Target Canada, said in an interview this week. “We’re not building our business model as compared to the U.S.” when it comes to prices.

I guess I'm still truly boggled as to why people expected low prices. When Target first came, they stated in most, if not all, major newspaper, online news website, etc., that they were not going to have prices like the US. They offered price matching and had regular in-store coupons, cash register coupons, and would take manufacturers coupons also. For me, that's probably the closest to stacking I'll ever be able to do. Target, you had me at two coupons per product and price-matching! Your clearance prices - be still my beating heart! I never made it to the stores ahead of the shelf clearers, but I always held out hope for that lucky day when LO is old enough for me to leave the house for longer than a grocery store shop!

The stores were open, clean, friendly, helpful, offered raincheques when an item was out of stock... Apart from inventory issues and low selection in a few categories, I really have no complaints. It was never easier to use a coupon, I never felt like I was being interrogated when I had a few coupons, and it was such a different shopping experience than Walmart or Zellers.

I didn't want another dollar store (although their One Spot section is pretty amazing) and I feel we're inundated with dollar stores in Canada. They're becoming the next Tim Hortons here, almost as common as ATMs. I certainly didn't want another Walmart with their high priced, low quality, run of the mill goods. I'm not saying I wouldn't be sorry if Walmart left, but each had their own place in the market. I will be really disappointed when they finally close their doors because of the atmosphere, the totally different shopping experience, and the lack of competition for other retailers. Diversity is always welcome!

And I will totally miss seeing girls' winter dresses with sleeves, bathing suits available in December, cute Hello Kitty clothing for kids, the Circo brand, and the Champion gear. Sigh. The selection in baby stuff was so nice!

That is the misperception that prevents people from shopping online. I buy 100% of my clothes online, free shipping, from a variety of retailers, cheaper than in store, and I can simply return them in store, or for free with the shipping label provided. Some of them make it very easy

I agree!! i've had many positive experiences shopping online and scored some great deals! Or if my size isn't avaialble in-store, i can orde online!

Your experience is vastly different from mine, but to each their own.

The part that bothered me initially when they started failing is that they said Canadians just weren't ready for one-stop shopping. I didn't like the blame being put on the customers, meanwhile Target didn't truly offer one-stop shopping, and we are ready for it since we've been doing it at Walmart for years.

I will miss their cute kids clothes, but not the aggravating shopping experience (one lane open, empty shelves, items coming up the wrong price). I also feel for the employees.

Target’s exit from Canada will be ‘rapid’


Shoppers will begin to see deep discounts on apparel, household essentials and home décor items among thousands of other products at Target Canada in about a couple of weeks’ time, a spokesperson confirmed Tuesday.

“We do expect that to begin in about 2-3 weeks,” spokesperson Eric Hausman said in an email message. Liquidation sales will be followed on fast by store closures, experts suggest.

Analysts at Desjardins Securities said Tuesday all 133 Target locations across Canada will likely be closed by the early spring, or just two years after the U.S. retailer launched in Canada.

“It appears likely in our view that all stores will be closed before the end of April,” analysts at the financial services firm said. “Target’s exit from Canada appears likely to be orderly and rapid.”

What’s in stores now is largely what shoppers will see deals on, with no new merchandise coming in from suppliers. Additional merchandise located at three distribution centres will find its way into stores in the coming weeks as well.

I have seen so many positive posts about how generous Target Canada is for giving their employees 16 weeks "compensation". Here's the actual FAQ sheet the employees get.

Correct, the last day is May the 16th until which you will work and be paid. Those ARE the 16 weeks. If you are no longer required at any point before May the 16th, you will still receive your pay until that date.

It will be an average but I can tell you that no one is sure how it will be calculated yet. I myself haven't even received my letter yet.

Yes... they are saying you may or may not work for the next 16 weeks, but we will pay you till May 16th either way.
