    Happy Easter weekend all.

    Ended up getting up at 630 today. My body said haha you are not allowed to sleep in.

    today we will be able tidying before company arrives for the week.

    I posted a 2nd refurbished pc for sale today. Hoping to get between 150 and 200 for it. Which will go towards replacing my cell with an unlocked newer version. Mine hasnt been charging properly since October but if i renew my contract to keep the service i have my bill would go up $45 a month plus upgrade phone fees. If i buy a unlocked phone and dont make changes between the cost of tge phone purchase on contact and uppage of fees the unlocked phone is paid for in 5 months.

    Hopefully everyone is enjoying a day off.
    SA: I knew that you would have great roofing info. I so agree about a reputable company. We have been in our house 20 years and have done the roof twice. We bought the house knowing it needed a roof and so we used a friend of a friend, big mistake. So when we redid the roof we paid more but used a company that has been in our city for years and has a great reputation. The fact we had to book them and wait was proof we made a good choice. As for metal they are showing up on the city, my backyard neighbor has one in red no less. At 1st it was glaringly obvious, now I don't even notice it.
    DH and I spent the morning doing our quarter savings update. I started this last year and I find it is super motivating to look at all our saving & retirement accounts to see the growth. I do it once a quarter, looks like retiring at 60 is an option.

    We have metal roof at our cottage because of the high pitch an it's easy to install, we'll never have to do the roof again our lifetime either

    Well I just dropped my 15 year old DD off at the airport-she is flying alone to Vancouver for the weekend to visit her cousin( on Aeroplan miles). When we got to the airport her flight had been cancelled since we left home so they just put her on the one an hr later. DH headed out to Banff with our company as I felt one of us should be here in case of any problems with the flight-so quiet afternoon here-will chill and catch up on a couple of things. Happy Easter all.

    Good Everyone,
    I believe SS also mentioned possibly a problem with the Eaves. If you have someone quote you they are probably going to suggest gutter guard. Gutter Guard is good but here is my opinion, if you choose Gutter Guard do not use the one that is also a hanger, yes it is cheaper and there is no dispute it is strong. The issue being if some how some way you get a clog (it does still happen the likelihood depends on factors around your house) you cannot just remove the gutter guard and clear the clog. If you have the gutter guard that is also the hanger you have to take down the whole trough which is not an issue with a 5 ft piece but lets face it most of us have much longer pieces on our houses and these are the sections that will clog. Image trying to take a 20+ ft piece of trough not easy nor is re installing it. If you go with one that fit on top at anytime you can pop out a piece and clear the clog and your eaves stay up only issue may be climbing a ladder if you are afraid of heights.

    Again as always make sure it is a reputiable company. I find eaves companies are not like Roofers probably because of the equipment needed to run eaves, the machine is not cheap. But with that being said a few years ago the pricing did bottom out on trough machines so a lot of people viewed this quick cash on the side. Biggest thing to remember is if it sounds too goo to be true it probably is.

    I hate to say it but right now material supplies are rising as it all comes out of the states (it maybe manufactured in Canada but the raw material comes from the US) so our dollar tanking has a huge effect on pricing. Almost all suppliers have just put through increase.

    [QUOTE=jasperandchar;6357594]Morning all,

    Logan is off to an exciting day he is 1 of 20 were selected from grades 6 through 8 from his school to attend WE DAY

    Fantastic!!!! I used to teach gifted kids and each year we would have a conference to which we invited various speakers. When Craig Keilberger was 12, he came to talk to the kids about eliminating child slavery in the world. And look what he's accomplished - now with his brother! He and his brother are a major force in making students feel that they really CAN change the world!

    Your son will come back PUMPED, I bet!

    Made some cards today out of supplies I already had. Estimated savings @ $3 card (nicer than dollar store cards, but not as expensive to make as Hallmark costs!) $24.

    All my birthdays for April are covered now. There are a few people I would normally slip something into the card that I am not doing that for this year. Financial situation is different. A card made with love is enough.
