I feel vote splitting will be a major factor in the election

Well, yeah. I'm a conservative but I can be honest about this, if it wasn't for vote splitting we wouldn't have a chance. Just like through the 90s vote splitting on the right meant Liberal majority after Liberal majority, now since the right has united the split on the left means the Conservatives have formed the government for almost a decade.

Not that if the left united everyone now supporting one of those parties would continue to do so. Most Liberal supporters are centrists, they think the Conservatives are too far right and they think the NDP is too far left. If the left united under the NDP banner some of those Liberals would come to the CPC. Not enough though, the United left party would win a huge majority. It would mean the death of the Liberal party, though, which is why Trudeau wants no part of it. He's no MacKay.

Edit: Peter MacKay is my hero, btw.

Just like Hollywood folks, politicians or would-be ones need to learn to take the good with the bad. You can't just use them to your advantage when you feel like it. A case of cry me a river really, as the media rags are only in it for the profit. I can't wait to see the shenanigans yet to come from the race to the White House

I agree with you. Mulcair speaks well, and I truly believe he's genuine. I don't agree with many of his political views but I do believe he's an honest advocate for those views and that he usually means what he says.

I also agree with you on Trudeau. His politics might be a little closer to what I can live with but he does seem to try to be a dramatic actor, acting a role, making heartfelt speeches. He even lets his voice quaver a bit, trying to bring emotion into his speeches that just ring false. He's trying to be an actor playing a role, hoping no one will notice. I don't think that will work for him. If his father wasn't PET he wouldn't even be here now.

I agree, Mulcair's views don't match mine in most cases but he actually believes in something which is refreshing compared to the Ont NDP's 'we will do consultations and ask ppl what they want' line

Rex is back from vacation. Yay.

And Nanos has the CPC with a slight lead again.
