We went shopping after dinner tonight. ( when we were full from a steak, potatoe, mushrooms, onions and Brussel sprouts). I did the spend $20 on produce get 6000 pc pts. We are stocked up and have a great variety. Thank gosh for price matching or else it wouldn't be worth it. And my RCSS a had the 3lbaskets of peaches marked down to 99 cents! I was planning on buying 2 at $2.77. They are nice and hard and fresh! I bought 3. So happy with my haul and pc pt. spent $92 and received 15400 Pc pts. And we will be eating great and healthy for the next 2 weeks plus lots of stuff for freezer (BLSL chicken)

LO and I tried out two new recipes yesterday after dh got home from work. One was freezer cookie dough which is egg free and intended to be eaten as dough. It's pretty good, but I've had better. The better cookie dough was sold as part of an entrepreneurship class at the local high school and their final recipe was yummy. We also baked chocolate chip oatmeal squares with cranberries, raisins, and pecans in it. It's VERY good. Most of the 9x13" pan is already gone because I took a bunch fishing with us today, we all ate some, and I froze a bit for another day.

My brother, his 5.5yrs old son, and I went fishing from 6:30am-noon today. My big brother finally caught two small pickerel at 11, so we enjoyed seeing each other but there wasn't much in regards to successful fishing. Dh did just fine with all 3 children while I was gone. He still had 1 bottle left in the fridge, but it was good to nurse them when I got home. The smoke got a lot worse here as the day went on. An air quality advisory was issued yesterday afternoon.

Free wifi again. DH is just smoking the bike course. It's his strongest event so I think he is going to finish far faster that his goal of 16 hrs. He was done the swim and over 100 km of the bike in just under 6 hrs. He hates the run so this will give him lots of wiggle room

Good afternoon, everyone.

Had a nice mini vacation at my Mom's, although the brats were a bit upset that she wasn't there (it didn't dawn on me at first that the last time someone seemed to disappear - my Dad - he never came back ). They are still a bit out of sorts. We'll have to see my Mom as soon as she gets back from her trip, just so they'll know all is well.

Did get a bit frustrated with a friend of mine. Sigh. I've had a few challenges in my life. Because I don't whine about my situation and make the best of things (I hate feeling weak, so I always remind myself that life could always be far worse), I rarely get any sympathy from this friend (which is great, I don't need or want anyone feeling sorry for me). So a friend of this friend has been whining about how hard her life is, etc. I made the mistake of not being supportive and agreeing (I suggested that this individual is taking advantage of my friend's good nature), so now my friendship is strained. So, because I think this individual should get off her duff and use the services available to her to improve her life, I'm apparently an insensitive clod. Sigh. So, I have to apologize for over-reacting (I don't think I did), in order to save a friendship. I really really hate manipulative people who get everything they want.

On the plus side, my life is good. I have the brats to keep me company. I had a lovely lunch with my dog group (very nice ladies I met online while discussing - you guessed it - dogs). So, there is zero need for me to be soliciting sympathy.

Better get myself organized and get back to the housework. I wish I knew how to stop dust from breeding (sheesh, I'm not even here & there's a thick layer of dust on the TV that wasn't there when I left).

Took my teen back to school shopping. ( even though he wears a uniform lol). Spent a small fortune but he is happy and set till Spring! Everything was on sale (but the shoes he wanted $92!) but considering my sister bought his last pair I'm doing ok. I bought the SPC card since we were shopping at American Eagle etc so it paid for itself plus some. And now we have the card for the year. Bought more groceries. Burger patties, perogies, English muffins so we are so stocked up. I don't think I will need much the next month really. Tonight's dinner is BLSL chicken on the bbq with salad with tons of veggies and goat cheese. Will make another salad for my lunch tomorrow.

Hey Nancy, was that you that made the Korean beef recipe with ground beef.I just ran across it on Damned Delicious and am wondering what you thought of it.

I never got around to it but it's next on my ground beef list of things to make, probably next week sometime but it was from that dammed delicious, I've made quite a few recipes from her and they are good I will vouch on that.

-took my hubby's sister she just turned 52 and on a disability pension out for supper to swiss chalet -I told her whatever you want so hubby and I paid the bill 68.00 not frugal but nice for her (they now are trying roast beef sandwiches on their menu as a trial) so glad I got it so yummy with the fries
-gave her a 15.00 timmies card and dishcloths and face cloths and fuzzy socks -she is not a lotion or shower gel type of girl

-so darn ticked with our weather it said rain sometimes this afternoon -so I didn't stain the deck railing -now no rain at all today(but fog in the morning so don't want to chance it and do it now as the dew may stick to stain if it is tacky still)-and I babysit the next 2 days -may get hubby to watch "ashlyn" when she is sleeping and go home to stain a bit -as we are due for rain wed/thurs

@walkonby great job on harvesting from the school yard, those apples will come in handy over the winter when apple prices rise to crazy prices. And awesome job on the tuition PS we all are guilty of slips ups, that's life
