I will probably put it up the last week of November.
Today I set up the outside decorations and lights.

If it were up to me I'd put it up today but I think DH would finally think I've lost the plot. I love love love Christmas. I'll stretch it out to the first weekend in december probably.

It's still up for debate whether I want to put one up or not. I used to get so excited about Christmas when the kids were young, my parents were both still with us...now? Not so much. I told my hubby it'll be either nothing at all, or it'll look like Christmas threw up in here.
I'm betting the former.

Lynn, YES, still do it! Put up a tree, put up decorations - it will do your heart, soul, and spirit good!

I agree with Natalka, Lynn, put up a tree!! There is something about the feeling of Christmas (shopping aside) that, in my opinion anyways, just can't be felt any other time of the year.
As I posted earlier in this thread, my husband and I were married on November 30th. I wanted to try and capture that peaceful sort of feeling for our ceremony. I think we did just that. The service started at 4:30, so it was getting dark out, each stained glass window had a candle in it and my 3 bridesmaids all carried candles, and the flowers in the church were all poinsettias. I walked down the isle to a very nice instrumental version of Coventry Carol. It felt like a Christmas eve candle light service.

Erin, your wedding ceremony sounds absolutely lovely...I've done about 24 weddings this year, last one today, and I've seen so many...So often I get the impression that it's more about the wedding than the marriage, but you give me hope, as do some other couples, that after the day is over, there really is going to be a "happily ever after". After being married to my precious husband and high-school sweetheart for 42 years, hope springs eternal for me!
Thank you, Erin and Natalka for your thoughts on my reticence on putting up a tree or anything else this year and you two almost brought me to tears. With my best friend of 20 years facing another, worse, year with ALS, I guess it just makes me sad that this may be the last year we're able to walk around like we've done all those years, searching for the best stuff for our daughters and having a blast doing it. And with our grandson allergic to our Jenny, he won't be visiting, it'll all be over at our DD's and her hubby's home...I was feeling sorry for myself, when what I should be doing is celebrating the memories of the most wonderful childhood Christmases any child could have (Natalka, you know what I mean: huge Ukrainian celebrations)...and making it the best Christmas ever for my dear Friend.
Thank you...I needed that swift kick in the tush!!!
