    Hi folks!
Mostly driving today. But spent some time at a MIND-BOGGLING mall. I have never been to the West Edmonton Mall so I can't compare, but, I swear you could park your camper and spend a week there and still not visit every store.

I bought 2 pairs of Ecco shoes that weren't just black "old lady" shoes that I can find where I live. I was happy - both on sale and also BOGO at 50% off.

We also visited a very sad giant flea market. Lots of people, especially older people, trying to make ends meet.

    Nice, mostly sunny, mild weather.

Fell off the wagon today and had a scrumptious milk shake. Yum but probably dumb.

We drove across "Alligator Alley" today to cross the state. It goes right across the Everglades. Before I came to Florida, I always though the Everglades was Jungle but, in fact it's a swamp.

I love seeing the beautiful flowers and birds here.

Going to meet some friends for lunch tomorrow. So, I am going to hit the sack.

Best Wishes! Have a frugal week!

    Happy Hump day!

Alligator Alley! Sounds awesome. I remember seeing tons of attractions for/about Alligators when we were in Orlando a few years ago at on our way back and forth to Disney. I love Alligators! Will be checking those attractions out next time I am there for sure!

Have a $10 coupon for Mark's. Hoping they have some boots I like and my size. Will check it out on my lunch. Mama needs to start shopping for a new wardrobe.

    Good afternoon, everyone.

Sorry I went awol. All is well, at least with Quincy cat & me. Not too sure about Lily dog. The cough she's had off and on since Aug is getting worse. Of course, she's perfectly fine when the Dr sees her. Old age & cataracts are the only things going on (since she made herself my guide doggy when I was having vision problems, I guess I'll have to be her guide human if her eyes get worse ). I'm pretty sure there is something else going on, but as long as she's a happy bouncy girl, I'm trying not to worry. I am, however, getting sleep deprived. The coughing starts in the middle of the night & I spend the rest of the night trying to fall asleep again. Quincy cat snores his way through it all. Today, she decided she wasn't going to eat her breakfast. I was in full panic mode, until I offered her some of mine & she gulped it down. It would appear that kibble is sub-par when it comes to toast.

Had 4 busy days in a row (saw the play, stayed up all night chatting with bff, running around at the Women's Show - twice, since another friend wanted to meet for lunch Sat, then potluck with friends on Sun, which meant baking both doggy cookies and a people cake) which all but did me in, then the modem went on strike. Took me 2 days to figure out the surge protector wasn't working properly. Yes, I felt like an idiot.

Better go check on my girl. Maybe bribe her into a little playtime with the promise of a cookie...which Quincy cat will then try to steal.

Hope everyone has a wonderful evening.

I have stilled not turned on the furnace. I like to see how long we can go, but we have had a few cold days so I am not sure if I will make it to November. But controlling our gas usage has worked as we had the equal billing drop from 97.00 a month to $84.00 this year and so far we have not paid a full month as Union Gas is trying to clear the credit. This month it was 45.00 and the past two months it was zero. We have lived in this house 20 years and it was 72.00 a month before our oldest was born so this is impressive. We have added a gas dryer/gas BBQ & a gas fireplace since then. Two years ago we did a major reno and added lots of insulation in the reno space so a huge asset too. This also results in extra baking so that keeps the others from grumbling.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Thanks, J&C! We are having a very lovely time trying to stay within our energy limits.
Today was very nostalgic. We went to some of the places we have spent happy times in the past and tomorrow will drive to Tampa to see DH's son for a few days.

Nice weather! 80s to 90s but with a nice breeze.

DH's kids went to University of Florida when he lived down here. Their Sports Teams are called the Gators. So we have "Gators" all over the place! I have even seen live ones - used to love eating gator bites, but now can't do the deep fried stuff!

Sorry to hear about Lily dog! When we were checking out our puppy, the vet was asking us about coughing wrt perhaps a heart murmur. I hate to suggest that.

You've been a very busy lady.
    Glad to see you back!

Our 13 year old Lab was just diagnosed with Laryngeal Paralysis, she started coughing a couple of years ago and it has progressed to worse coughing and a lot of panting. She has been our sons best friend and the best family dog ever. There is surgery available but we have opted just to love her until we know she is suffering. Here is a link, it is a very common problem with labs, I am hoping it is maybe kennel cough or something that will be an easy fix for you. Good Luck.
