Morning. I should get up and get things done but the house is so quiet. Youngest had a friend sleepover and oldest had friends over late as they are working on something. Coffee and breakfast will get me going. Think I will make a batch of pancakes for kids. Hope everyone has a great day.

    Good Morning Everyone,
I am starting to think I do not do this vacation thing well. Decided I needed to try to get back into routine this morning so I set my alarm for 7 am, yep rolled over huge headache, room took a spin so I went back to bed. I am up now but Mom is not so thinking we are not going shopping as planned which is fine. Our fridge still seems to be bursting at the seams, other then milk and maybe yogurt I am not sure there is anything we really need, I think most of the list is wants so maybe skipping this trip is the best option.

I have a couple picks up scheduled, hope they go through. The no shows lately have been ridiculous which is why I stopped being as active as I was on the site but I would really like to move so stuff out so I might drop some prices and see what I can get rid of.

Well think I will try to get some work done well I finish my tea. Have a great day everyone

Fed the kids a big breakfast. Cleaned kitchen. Need to run dishwasher this evening. Took homemade burgers out of freezer for dinner. Will serve with salad and sliced cucumber. Went to RCSS and bought fresh buns. Will continue to tidy house. Cleaned out a basket in my room and found 4x $25 gift certificates for Harvey's, Swiss chalet etc. Will saveto treat us out in Feb (after being really good in Jan and eating from freezer/pantry)

One pick up down, one to go.

Marked down a few items but no interest yet. Think I will post some new items over the weekend before I go back to work as I will be home next week for pick ups, I have officially stopped delivery as I do not feel comfortable delivering in the dark and it is dark by the time I get off work.

Another quiet morning. Made eggs and coffee for breakfast. Undecorated the tree last night so will pack all that stuff away today and tidy the family room. We are having New years in tonight and having a BBQ. Steak is in the menu. Hoping youngest crashes early lpl. Happy New Year's everyone. Off to grab a few things (potatoes) and anything else I find for a deal but not planning on getting much really. Getting rid of stuff is the new year plan!

Went to RCSS and decided to buy a club pack of steaks since on sale (instead of pulling from the freezer) and I had personal offer of 200 PC PTS per $1 spent on beef. Also found a single large steak on mark down for $2.50 for DS's lunch, steak wraps! I don't buy cold cuts etc and really this is way cheaper too! He loves them!
Ziploc containers (Christmas colours/packaging are down to $1.44 ( reg $4.99) used save $2 coupon when you buy 2. Was going to get the 5 lb russet potatoes At FB for .99 cents. My RCSS had the 10 lb bag on for .98 cents and I got 200 PC PTS!! So a quick little shop with deals!

Went to Goderich yesterday to get my feet done. Did a bit of shopping but didn`t get any deals. Guess I didn`t really look because I didn`t need anything. I`m trying not to bring anything into the house that we don`t absolutely need.
I did try to find a light bulb for my Christmas tree but nobody has the size I need. Broke down last night and ordered it from Amazon. The shipping was almost twice the cost of the bulb.

Another kind of bulb won't have done the trick then, or a new cheaper light perhaps?

I subscribe to your no new item not needed in the house sentiments.

Side note: It's been a while since I visited Goderich. pretty in the summer

    Good afternoon, everyone.

Waiting for bff to play chauffeur and take us to my Mom's for New Years festivities (I suspect martinis are on the menu, tuna-flavoured ones for the brats ). Managed to do something silly to my foot (have a scratch where I'd had a skin graft years ago, so a bit concerned), so I'm limping a bit today. Clearly there will be no dancing with doggies tonight - I'll have to settle for kisses.

Hope everyone has fun tonight! Hope everyone has an absolutely amazing, fun, healthy, happy, stress-free 2016!!!

My younger sister came to visit from Saturday to Monday. It was her first time coming by herself from 5hrs away where she attends university in Saskatoon. My dad and his wife came for an unexpected visit from Sunday to Tuesday. We had to buy an air mattress because we had 3 adult guests at the same time, but we only have a three bedroom house...so they all camped out in the living room. Dh bought the air mattress on sale at CT and used the gift cards that I had collected. $25 card from redeeming free RBC VISA points, plus part of the $50gc that I bought during a Sobeys promotion.

My dad and his new wife live 6.5hrs away. This was the first time that his wife had seen our house and Dad hadn't visited us here in 3.5yrs. My dad did something that is a bit of a tradition...he provided us with meat for the freezer. 5 Hutterite chickens, 1 bison roast, 1 bison steak, 2 packs of ground bison, 1 pack ground beef, 1 package of bison burgersand 1 bison stewing bone. Dad apologized for not bringing us some moose, but they have plans to turn it into sausage.

The twins are getting pretty active. Our son is 3.5lbs heavier and 2" longer than our baby girl. Baby girl has a more laid back personality. Baby boy is a little more demanding. They both roll, kick, grab toys, talk, and giggle. Baby boy will belly scooch and turn circles on the floor. He is also trying to sit. They are both teething and currently having an issues with sinus congestion.

I was glad that I decided to double check addresses for dh's grandparents and his mom before I mailed out a few Christmas cards with family pictures who live in Alberta. This is how we found out that Grandpa had moved. Moreover we couldn't get an answer at his new phone number. Dh's aunt saw that we had been trying to contact Grandpa, so she called. She told us that Grandpa has been in the hospital for about 3 months. For the most part the doctors aren't sure what is wrong with him. He is 86yrs old, but has always lived independently. He suddenly lost 40lbs, etc. I told aunty that I was still mailing the card and asked her to bring it to him. Apparently some family members still hadn't heard that we had twins. This type of thing happens sometimes when you live hours away and family members are not always in good health, which includes MIL.

Happy New Year! All three children are asleep, so I'm going to try to get a nap in before someone needs me. With sick/teething little ones I haven't been getting too much sleep over the last week.

It`s still cheaper than replacing the fiber optic Christmas tree.

I finally upgraded my phone and signed a new 2yr contract. I had a 4.5yr old iPhone 4 and it was slowly starting to give me some trouble, plus I take most of my pictures and videos on my phone, so it was time to upgrade. Sasktel texted me an offer for $200 off any new phone. I got an iPhone 6s with an otter box for $295. I was happy with that.

While we were at Sasktel getting my phone an older couple was also getting a new phone. They asked dh if they could give our 3yr old son their old iPhone 4s with life proof case, after they had it put back to manufacturer settings. The antenna is broken, which is why they were forced to get a new phone. We had never met this couple before. Now our son has his own phone to play with, take pictures and videos, Youtube, and a few educational apps. I hooked it up with our home wifi. We don't let him have it too much, just like we have chosen not to let him use the tablet that I won a while ago. Electronics can be handy, but it is still best to be active and hands on.
