Cleaning up the budget today. I have 315.00 in change/cash from casino visit. Will use it for groceries I think and carry over grocery $. Would like to build up extra money in grocery budget for when prices increase etc.

My SDM points total is at 330,284 now. Thinking I may hit the big city 45 mins from us on Sunday and see if I can redeem for some great deals for Christmas. Find one with good clearance items (like I did last year!)

My PC pts are just over $504. We are pretty stocked up (freezer and fridge full) so hoping to build the points more and do a mini stock up next month with great sales/deals. Will push it till January if I can (I like to start the year off spending no money )

Did the budget clean up today.

PC pts are at $545.00. Thinking I will redeem the amount over $500 next week (if needed) I won't be shopping this weekend (away for hockey) so will just need some fresh stuff on Monday. Will be cooking up stuff on hand/freezer for the teen.

Cleaned up the budget today. Paid the credit card off after weekend away. ouch.
I put all extra money on my credit card to have a credit.
I have my full budgeted amount for groceries still but may just redeem $40 in PC pts (total pc pts right now is $551) We don't need much really, just some fruit. Will see what I find. I will try not to spend much of the food budget money so I can carry it over. Will really plan meals from food on hand. I have tons of bread (bagels, English muffins, wraps etc) so will use them up for breakfast etc.

Budget clean up today. I paid off my vehicle last month so my car payment money is free now ) I am going to use it for Christmas/household etc this month then make sure to save it going forward.

Starting January I am going to try and be really frugal and save save save! When I do my next SDM redemption I will make sure to get household items (TP/ laundry detergent etc) to stock us up so we don't need to spend on that stuff.
Really going to get everything we don't need out of the house. Less is more!

What an expensive year, hopeful that next month December and going forward in the new year will bring a revamp of the savings and projects.

This year we purchased our new to us Dodge charger cash (repaid all accounts), purchased a 2017 Chevy Silverado, many projects were accomplished at the cottage over the summer/fall as we paid someone to do the work.

We now need to start saving up again before we make purchases and rebuild our bank accounts.

Don't regret 1 thing which is nice but need to refocus on priorities around the house. 2 new sets of windows are required come spring time.

Need to venture out to superstore to do a large shop, will try and arrange something in the coming weeks or may send dh 1 night on his way home.

I carried over $108.71 in grocery money from last period. Will be using change/cash win to buy groceries (will put credit on M/C as I purchase groceries).

I have put a huge credit on my credit card to cover the rest of Christmas gifts needed. I plan on going into the new year with a credit.
Water/sewer bill- I have a credit on the account but put the budgeted amount on it as well. Want to go into new year with a credit. Will do the same for Hydro and Gas bill.

I need to sort all my gift cards. I have an extra wallet and think I will put them all in there. Will start using them. I have a few visa prepaids that I was saving for new clothes for me (from work).

Christmas bonus. This year I will put it in my 2018 TFSA. Will put all extra money in there in the new year and try to max it out ASAP. Then decide if I will contribute more to RRSP.

I want to take inventory of household supplies. Then figure out what a 1 year 6 month supply would be. Then that will be my target for each item stocking up as sale/coupons come

Budget clean up! Credit cards paid.
$100 moved to Christmas 2018 account.
$40 moved to School Cash envelope (money used for school expenses)

$89 from Dec grocery budget moved forward for January. I haven't touched grocery money yet for Jan. Using change to buy healthy stuff only. Freezer is stocked. Dec 26th I found tons of meat at RCSS for $2LB and I stocked us up (Extra lean beef, BLSL chicken breast, pork chops, pork loins) Really plan meals and use crockpot at least once a week. Cook extras for leftovers.

I have many giftcards to use the next while. For clothing, groceries, restaurants etc. We were spoiled. Will use them smartly.

Sell stuff- Get rid of the junk and save the money for Summer fun (Festivals, farmer markets, Road trips etc)

I don't currently have any points saved, I used them all to offset the cost of Christmas. It was a big help so I may do the same for 2018. We decided January would be our no-spend month, other than bills and food. We are also making an effort to use things up before grocery shopping, lots of meal planning and slow cooker soup! It's tricky to always have somethings planned or get coffee at work if I'm running behind, so I am making use of coffee gift cards.

Just cleaning up the budget but not much to do. Have been paying cash for groceries etc. Haven't touched my grocery budget money yet and plan to use the change I have and $205 cash in my wallet for my next purchases (which shouldn't be really anything the next while but groceries)
Credit card points won't be growing since I am not spending but that is ok! Still have gift cards to use but haven't used them yet so nice to have them for down the road. I will have to write out a list of cards and balances so I know what I have.

Did the final numbers for 2017. Retirement is good. Was 10% under yearly budget and that was with some extraordinary unexpected expenses. That is good since 2018 has already thrown me an unexpected expense and shall see how things go this year. Was massively under food budget due to cooking more at home and also all the good tips and tricks I learned here on SC. How to sit down and plan the 2018 budget.
