    Good morning!

-18 this morning, but omgosh, our prairies are getting the worst of winter lately!
@Natalka , I hope your Hubby doesn't work outdoors in that weather!

@flemeth , I hope your dr can find you relief from your back pain. It's impossible to do anything when a back is that uncomfortable.

Cabin fever has set in. I need to find a project to get me interested enough to work on. The weather has been rain/ice since Christmas and I think I've been out to the shops once this year. This weather isn't conducive for me to walk around in...everything hurts when it's this cold and I'm too scared of falling ice. Hybernation is boring, but it's safe.

@walkonby , @GoJays , it just boggles the mind that an entire team would go along with that kind if blatant cheating, isn't it? Deflategate may (may!) have only involved the QB and coach, but this is just unbelievable. Just think of kids involved in baseball now....what an important lesson opportunity for them, esp if the team gets dealt a heavy blow that isn't just financial!

Be careful out there, if you have to be out at all.

Windchill is -47, we will have similar temps over the next few days. Crazy!

Husband should be working outside, but he will get that work delayed until it is warmer - and find something to do indoors.

@walkonby - love the pope shows! Hopefully he won't be in a coma for long...

@flemeth - hope you can get/do something to ease your back pain.

Hoping everyone has a terrific Tuesday!

@Natalka the Pope's coma will end, he moved his finger!! He'll be in that white Speedo before we know it....ha ha
I set mine to record and the silly thing cut off before the very very end of the episode. I caught it later though.
Had to readjust the pvr to add some minutes to future episodes when they air.

Had a coleslaw argument with myself today at NF. They wanted $2.49 for a skimpy bag with less than 400 grams of the shredded cabbage/carrot in it. Phooey! So I bought a red and a green cabbage ( .67 cents a lb. ), have carrots at home.
Shredded up a full 2 pounds into a giant ziploc bag and still have 2/3 of both cabbages left.
The OOP for the 2 heads of cabbage was $4.23, so um....since I only used 1/3 of that does that mean it cost roughly $1.40 to make 2 lbs of coleslaw?
    My head hurts.

Oh yeah, I gotta know. If anyone can tell me. While I was at NF I saw this interesting fruit ( or maybe it is a vegetable ? ) but they were loose and sold per pound and were light green in colour resembling pretty large grapes BUT they were quite firm. Hard to the touch.
I picked one up, smelled it, and then a customer ( she appeared East Indian ) smiled and told me how tasty they were.
She said to cut them and add salt ( I think ) but now for the life of me I cannot remember what the 4 letter name of these things were. I've tried the Google but came up empty. NF doesn't give phone numbers out to stores so I couldn't ask a produce person to check the name.
Oh well....a mystery until the next time I go to that particular location again.

Your math is quite correct, @walkonby!
My Hubby brought home a huge pre-made Greek salad the other day, and we were able to get 3 servings each until he tossed it out. $12, I think? Since then he purchased romaine hearts and the other ingredients to make our own which I still have to clean and prepare so that when we're in the mood for a salad, we can just grab them from the fridge.

Could that have been gnip/guinep? or a June Plum? Guava?
I love unusual fruits, like the starfruit which looks so pretty on a charcuterie board...

Did my laundry today at my aunts. Then she took me for lunch and bought me new waterproof hiking shoes and socks. She definitely helps me out a lot which of course I appreciate.
hope every has a good evening.

That's happened to me before, @flemeth ...for some reason certain pictures can not be copied and shown here...it shows for us because we posted it, but check your "Go Advanced" to see if it shows there. Likely not if we can't see it.

ty @flemeth I Googled the word ( doungs ) that you said that fruit might be and it sure looks like what I saw at NF.
I remember it was only a four letter word on the sign though...which made me super confident that I WOULD NOT FORGET IT when I got home....ha ha ha !!!
So much for my brain cells.

Oh wasn't tonight's Leaf game glorious??!! All is forgiven, Matthew finally gets another hat trick, even if it was into the empty net. Sundin gets 2 points and made a difference with Riley out now. We can breathe again.
@Lynn49 yup, store prepped salads are pricey. I suppose to be fair they can work if you're single as it might be cheaper than buying all the stuff but tossing out what you cannot eat up in time. Well I am sticking to my promise of getting to bed earlier from now on. THIS is earlier btw...hee hee
    Nighty night all!
