Oh, my heart hurts for you, @walkonby , wrt your Altuve. Wearing a wire?! Did you see how he clutched his Jersey after that homerun?! Usually the team members tear a player's shirt off, but he immediately signaled not to do that! I wonder if he just list his chance at the Hall of Fame a la Oete Rose...
I'll be baking our GS's favourite oatmeal raisin cookies today and I'll pack some up so he can take them to his friend's house tomorrow. It was so nice that 'the kids' rearranged the kids' plans to be at our GS's home. Well take him to see Jumanji in the late afternoon, then to Boston Pizza..I'm not a fan, but they do have gluten-free crusts.
Anyhoodles, everyone, enjoy the day, stay in if you can. Poor east coast, I hope this blows over soon.

Too funny...as I was tracking down my Mom's oatmeal raisin cookies, my DH was on the computer downloading his sugar cookie recipe!
After 50 years, seems about right!
I guess we both thought that with the cold out there, and our GS coming here after school, cookies were in order!
We made the oatmeal raisin cookies...wish I could have one they smell heavenly!!Last edited by Lynn49; Fri, Jan 17th, 2020 at 02:15 PM.

Nope, nope and NOPE!
Altuve issued an adamant denial! I believe him too. ( cuz I love the guy,....sniff , sniff ) Also I have seen other players on other teams fight to keep their shirts on after they smack a HR, I don't see that as proof of anything.
https://www.si.com/mlb/2020/01/16/jo...ealing-scandal
Scott Boras, the agent for Altuve, told SI,
“Jose Altuve called me and said he wants it known that he has never, ever worn an electronic device in a major league game—ever. He never received any form—of a trigger or any information—via an electronic product that was on his body or in his uniform. He has never worn any electronic device. Ever.”
Altuve responded to social media speculation in a postgame interview after that home run, Altuve said he did want to be shirtless in deference to his modesty and his wife’s preferences.
As far as Altuve and the Baseball Hall of Fame go....time will tell.
This cheating scandal investigation should expand to include ALL the cheaters and not just a couple of teams.Oh!! @Lynn49 I loved the cartoon you posted....." what's in the freezer? " ( Sudbury! ) bwahahaha.
So it was a fun filled and busy day for me, but now it's my relax or possibly nap time?
Physio, followed by Sobey's Blue Friday, then Rexall's 100 BAM offer, over to the Giant Tiger sales and a Metro redeem 95, get 25 BAM, and the last stop at FB to grab my fav. coffee cream and some bakery treats for the gang.
All of this kept me away from my fridge until my first sit down meal at 2:00 p.m. thanks for the sweet comments about Rufus everyone, he's still such a cutie to us.

Bahahaha.. ..okayokayokay, @walkonby , I surrender!
We'll reserve judgement on your Altuve until all the smoke has cleared. It's tough to see through all those smoke-screens right now.
Winding down for the evening, a movie night with our GS shortly.
Our DD's Pilot decided to stop on the highway just before Parry Sound, and thankfully they were able to pull to the side of the divided highway. They got it towed to the CT there, rented a car and got to Casino Rama at 3:30...she was really pleased that they only had a 2-hr delay.
Toodles for now, enjoy your evening, everyone! AND your weekend!

My God, @Lynn49 - when I first read that your DD's "Pilot" decided to stop on the road outside Parry Sound, I thought you meant she was in a PLANE! Be still my trembling heart!
@walkonby - your doggie is definitely a sweetie pie!
I have been putting together the snacks for tomorrow night. As you do that, you realize the things you don't have. Like ice. A couple of people have asked if they can help. I am not turning down any offers.
Have to rest for a while. We are supposed to get a lot of snow tomorrow and winds.
I will give you an update later.
BFN!

We're watching figure skating and I'm getting a little misty...my late Best Friend and I used to watch it together while on the phone, critiquing the skaters after their performances. The memories that just seize us and break our hearts all over again.....

Good morning, Happy 🐈 urday!
Just finished a half bowl of yummy borscht - so very glad we found a cafe which makes it 'almost' like mine. Lots of fresh dill, which is a must!
My leg with the blisters has been hurting a fair bit, which I don't understand. This morning I reached down to see whether or not it was hot around the bandage - and felt another blister. Husband will check it as soon as he is able, to see what can be done. The nurses do leave supplies here.
We got a fair bit of snow yesterday and it's somewhat warmer. Temp -24, windchill -37... But lots of beautiful 🌞!
Have a super day, everyone!
