I just got home. When I left this morning, I was in shorts and a tank top. When I got out of the car, I was really cold. Couldn't wait to change into sweats, and turn the a.c. off.

Was a little chilly today and rainy off and on but I like it lol.
Went to food bank today and got lots of good stuff and it's nice that you can pick what you want for your 15 points. At the end where you get bread and head down the stairs to leave they said oh and don't forget to pick up your frozen turkey at the bottom of the stairs, here's a bag to put it in. After I got home I realized someone had put a huge thing of pomegranate juice in one of my bags. Got lots of soups, from freezer I got lunch meat 2 for a point so I took 4 and packs of sausages 1 point each so I took 2.
Hope everyone had a good day.

oh @cabmonk ! That is a wonderful bounty of foods to get you through the next while ...and a turkey? Score!
yes @22hicks today was so much better! The doggies went willingly about a 1/2 hr ago for their walk, temps were comfortable and the breeze was so refreshing.
Well if it ain't one thing it's another around here!
I wanna know who dropped their bad luck trinket in my house and left it here??
I mentioned yesterdays scare in another thread about our neighbour claiming he saw a hole in our roof and watched a raccoon climb inside!...but..... thankfully it was a no on both counts, however it still cost DH a days lost pay as he needed to investigate, climbed into the crawlspace, then onto the roof. ugh.
So....just a little while ago I go into the back room and there is water all over the floor!!
( washer was in its filling cycle for the rinse at that point )
I lift the lid, washer is overflowing but the water is STILL filling??
So I turn the dial to spin, water drains fine, clothes spin fine. I get those into the dryer as I clean the entire mess on the floor up. ( including lifting 2 soaked runner rugs )
I just love dust and water mixing together, makes for such a joyous cleanup....not!
Then I placed just a few things back into the washer but set the water level to a small load.
The water stops perfectly where it should, washing commences. I figured " o.k. it is fine, maybe something was plugged somewhere in that other load? "
So....I leave to walk the dogs....took a little longer getting back because I wanted to swing around the block let my neighbours know that thank goodness we had no hole in the roof or raccoon tenants.
When I returned there was the distinct sound of running water coming from the basement! Yup! the freaking thing had overflowed again. Seems to be happening only on the rinse cycle fill up.
First World problems......I know......there are so many other life/death/survival situations going on all over the globe so I know I have to keep this all in perspective.
Now whoever left that bad luck trinket here, please come get it??
GRRR!!! Now I gotta tell DH about this newest problem when he finishes work.

@walkonby Yeah it's nice to get help when you need it. I like the way they do the food bank here where you get things you want and there isn't waste. Sorry about your bad luck, I hope you don't have too many stupid things happen going forward.

Actually, that's a real crappy day @walkonby ; although great news about the roof & racoons, but still.
If your DH is handy, maybe he can fix the problem, but it's happened twice, & only in the rinse, so sounds like you need a new washer.
They things happen in threes, so does flooding twice count as 2? Hopefully, that's your three. Fingers crossed.

ty guys ( hicks, flemeth and cabmonk ) for the kind words about my washer issues. Hoping DH can tinker with it and figure out what it needs, just hate to buy another new one.
I have not gotten any response from a pm I sent Natalka 2 days ago.....I am really concerned that she may be battling a major health issue right now. ( possibly in the hospital )
hey!! Our Jays are up 3-1 right now!! I better go watch them...ttly all!

Yeah I have been wondering about Natalka too, hope she's ok.
@flemeth as for the food bank. I also got more juice, 4 big boxes of crackers for 1 point. Also toilet paper for 1 point and 3 expensive toothpaste for 1 point and a huge dish liquid for 2 points. Yeah the turkey was a surprise and didn't cost any points. Oh and milk and eggs for no points.
I had so much to carry home. So it's nice that vets taxi will give you a free ride home from the food bank. The drivers still get paid, the owner reimburses them.Last edited by cabmonk; Wed, Sep 27th, 2017 at 08:00 PM.

Morning gang.
Not a great start to the morning...
Smoke alarm goes off a 3:50 AM, for no apparent reason. Got up in a huge panic, no smoke or fires anywhere. The light is flashing a different patter than usual...so of course spent 10 minutes trying to find the instruction booklet for it to figure out what the different light pattern means...turns out the new blinking is "to inform me the alarm went off in the past 12 hours"...well thanks tips...it going off, scaring the sh!t out of me at 3:50 AM didn't tip me off at all!
Went back to bed...did I mention that I'm up at 4:30 to be ready for work in time? 4:30 rolls around...and then 4:35...and 4:40...Lady kicks me at 4:45, "you should get up, it's 4:45."...F***ing alarm clock didn't go off!
Now I'm behind schedule...plus the Lady is behind schedule. What does ask me as we're walking out the door to leave..."Do you know where my phone charger is? I need it today and can't find it."...REALLY!? Of all the days to ask me to find something, and at that specific moment. spent another 15 looking for a charger and cable that would work...didn't find hers, but another cable that would work.
We're not done yet...already well behind schedule, but I need to fill up the tank in the car. Pumping away, and wouldn't you know it...the sensor that stops the gas pump from over flowing your tank WASN'T WORKING!! Started spewing gas everywhere. Luckily I caught it in time and only sprayed about 1/2 L all over the side of the car and my shoes...
Traffic was horrendous. Took 3 times as long to get into work today. I've got too many dead lines to meet before day's end, plus running around doing other chores during the day.
Thinking of taking a 'SICK' day tomorrow. I need the weekend to come early.
Anywho, that's the rant for today.
Have a wonderfully cool day out there Fam, it's Sweater Weather!DANGER

Eyes flew open at 7:49 - I was sure the clock was wrong and that it was almost 9. Whoa - let's have a "Do-over!" Didn't get to sleep until nearly 2. Big market day and then Lynn heads home- wow-that went fast!
Only 10° out there-heading for a grand "Seasonal" of 17°. Where ARE those jeans?
Flemeth -it really is my kind of weather, too! I love the fall.
Wishing you all a wonderful "Throw Back" Thursday. Bfn!
By the way, does anyone know Natalka's full name? I'm ready to call the hospitals in Saskatoon to see if she's registered!
Take care, folks!

Dan, that sounds like a "rattling" start to the day! Take a deep breath! Whoa - that gas sensor thing -scary! Maybe with all the weird things, your hydro did flicker in the night.
Take care for the rest of the day-don't want you in "Danger"!

sadly I do not know Natalka's surname @avoncallingu She sure has all of us worried.
@danger_dan oy!! I see your morning and I raise you mine! I'm kidding. Mine is just frustrating.
By 8 a.m. this morning we decided to go ahead and absorb whatever the cost would be to repair the washer.....
I get an answering machine at the first place, leave a message to call me back.
I call another place, they can get here between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. that seems perfect so I book it.
The phone rings about 20 min after that, it's the first place returning my call, I apologize and say we have booked it with another company.
THEN...OMG! like 2 min after that the second place calls back to say their technician in our area just phoned in sick?? So they had to cancel.
Called a third company ( just too embarrassed to call the first guy back...lol ) and they can only come tomorrow.....Grrr
Anyhow @danger_dan , I hope you can make all your deadlines at work today!
