@GoJays , "Ricky" was our Mom's bird that we had from childhood into our tweens (teens?), and he could say a few words....he'd fly down the hallway in our bungalow and say, "Wake up! Wake up!"...as Mom prompted him from the kitchen. He could say, "Hello.", and a few other little words I can't recall anymore, but I know there were others.
I always found it amazing that a chirpy bird could actually talk!!

I'd love to have a pair, but I also remember the mess they could make had my Mom not been OCD about cleaning..haha!!

Oh yes, the mess. Vacuuming was a daily chore underneath that little messmaker. They're cute though It almost makes up for it.

I am creeped out by indoor birds but I love outdoor birds.

I had asked about that but the rheumatologist said to take it all at once, I do make sure I have eaten something. The folic acid prescribed is to mitigate the side effects, especially nausea. Interestingly, I cannot take it on the same day I take the methotrexate. If this persists, I will see about maybe going on ondansetron, but I really don't want to add another med! It worked really well for me in the past when a med I was taking for an infection was making me nauseated.

I'm just trying to make do with ginger ale, crackers and dry biscuits. Sometimes I just need a lie-down with a kitty purring beside me to make me feel better!

I find it odd that it has been hitting me more now at week four than the previous weeks, when I just was having a little bit. Maybe the drug just builds up in one's system.

Hey, I do figure out if that's the worst of the side effects that I am getting from the big list, I can deal with it, however unpleasant it is.

My son thought these tasted great. However, he was so disappointed to find out they weren't a veggie burger (the pea isolate they use doesn't count), but he was mortified to find out the crazy high sodium levels in a patty - I just looked it up, 380mg compared to 75mg in lean ground beef, both 1/4 pound patties.

He did like the taste, but knew i couldn't have one because of that high sodium amount.

    Enjoy!

Tweets77 Hi all! Tweets, I love the way people on this BB take care of each other--like you reached out to Natalka-- and, well, how members just care. That's a rare trait. I am taking a break from computer work, with one dog literally snoring near my feet. Ringo has a pathological fear of thunderstorms and so I give him 2 benadryl (he is 90 lbs) which calms him down and does no harm whatsoever to dogs. I learned of the trick from my vet. But the predicted storm did not materialize. So he is snoring through a cloudy but dry sky. Ah, well, there are worse things.

@Natalka I’ll definitely only have them occasionally. I’m mostly trying to do lots of beans, chickpeas, veggies, brown rice, sweet potatoes etc. They are really good though.

A treat now and then @cabmonk does a body no harm; it's the constant barage of salt and chemical laden processed foods that some people eat day in and day out that are or will give their bodies grief. Enjoy without guilt!

@Natalka, that is strange that the drug's hitting you weeks into your treatment. If it builds up, might the dosage need to be reduced? Just Dr Lynn asking, lol!!! Like I know so much...

Well, off to Laurentian to visit with our Grandson and view his and all the other kids' projects. It feels so late, though!! I'm usually in my comfies by now, watching a Midsomer Murder episode with my Hubby!
    At least the rain stopped.

    Enjoy your evening, everyone!!

@Lynn49 Yeah I’m surprised all my tests were good. Like cholesterol, iron, heart etc. Could be because of my better diet the last few months. While he said your cholesterol is good you’re eating too much fried food. Then it dawned on me. I was at my cousins fish fry literally 4 days before the tests. Lots of fries, fish, onion rings, mozzarella sticks etc. I said I usually don’t do that and he said it’s not a problem , it just takes some time for it to get cleared from your system so I’m sure you’re ok than.

@Lynn49 - I am on a low/average dosage for my condition. I do go see her, the specialist, in a few months for check-up and review.

Just had a yummy supper, will go listen to the radio for a while.

    Have a great evening, everyone!

Oh dear, my friends, it was my step-grand-daughter's last day at high school today. She is 18 and lives in Aurora, CO. Unfortunately, tragically, her friend, also an 18 year old guy from her school was shot to death by another 17 year old student from their school. My god, how do you deal with that, as an 18 year old? I can hardly stand to hear it!!!

It’s all crazy sorry to hear that. I’m glad I’m not in school anymore to deal with some of the stuff the kids deal with these days.

That's terrible, avon. Poor kid I'm with cabbie - I don't know how kids do it these days. I can't think of any bad things from when I was in school, not like that anyway.
