The difficult thing for me I find is the shelf price isn't always the same as the scan price. Although I make a list once I get to the register I need to tweak my list.

Good idea to find the price scanner before the cash desk just to make sure. I sometimes have the same price problem.
While everyone does think of gift ideas for redemptions, are you also considering getting the higher end greeting cards and wrapping supplies to accompany those gifts? Shoppers carries Papyrus cards-usually we all know a few people worth doing some splurging for now and then.
Also it can be worthwhile going to a larger food store to get items that a smaller local store may not carry despite what the flyer shows.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

I considered that one too, in part because I knew I could have gotten something more with the $40 difference. In the end, the key reasons I went with the 10" were that it seems to be a more recent model and because I figured there will be times when my eyes, which aren't as young as they once were, will be glad to have the larger screen to look at.

I get to $85 by buying stuff for mom and going to a store that sells meat, produce and frozen food and going on a week when we were too busy to buy food the week before, so have pretty much nothing in the fridge. You can still find things at reasonable prices without overspending. Sometimes 50% off soon-to-expire meat, bakery and cheese. Bread, beans, bananas, ice cream, yogurt, milk, eggs, cheese, chips, cookies, granola bars are often priced the same or better than the grocery store.
We often get birthday cards for the entire family for the rest of the year.
Also, buy your MIR items at SDM and send in the receipts for the rebate. It doesn't matter if you paid with points, the rebates will still come (all they care is that you actually did buy it, not how you paid for it)Last edited by torontogal12; Sat, Jul 8th, 2017 at 11:39 PM.
Apply every possible promo code to your cart, at every store that you visit (and get points for cash back on top of that?). It's sweet and easy with HONEY.

I like to send Nice Cards (if I had the skill, I would make them but I don't). So a lot of times I use my points on cards and things I would normally buy if they are reasonably priced or on sale. I have bought a tablet and other electronics.

I just redeemed for an Acer laptop - they subtracted off a $50 gift card at the cash register and I redeemed $170 so it only cost $230. Worked out great as my old laptop needed to be fixed, had two large scratches on the screen and died two weeks ago.

I have redeemed for a canon printer (which I love), obus forme for in the car, bionaire air cleaner, water neck pillow, cosmetic gift sets on Boxing Day, and most recently a laptop. I keep a list of everyday toiletries that I am running low on and when I am near a redemption I will stock up. While shoppers prices maybe higher, I prefer to go to one store as opposed to driving all over town wasting gas. It works for me. My local Shoppers is small so I go to a larger store when I want to redeem as they tend to have more items of interest. My next redemption will be for Clinique products which I use regularly. I understand that some stores offer 20% on cosmetics on seniors day, so that will be my next redemption plan.

I usually save enough points to do three redemptions for Christmas gifts. The rest of the points I use throughout the year to treat myself, mostly on things I would have never buy if not for points (expensive cosmetics, purses). The same goes with all my points (PC points -- I use them to buy myself clothes ) and Air Miles I cash in for event tickets (this year Canada's Wonderland, Football and the Zoo). This is my reward for being a smart shopper, and keeps it fun.

Cool. The tablet offer that I redeemed for worked out pretty well in terms of timing too. I wasn't intending to get one right now, but we only had one that we've been sharing, so it was pretty much only a matter of time. And I didn't have to spend the time comparison shopping that I normally would have; I only had to look around for the two models SDM was selling to see if either or both were good values.

I went in to SDM and had mouth wash and Colgate battery operated toothbrushes in my hand. Put them back and will put on my next redemption list (as long as on sale) Starting a list so I am ready to redeem soon when the sale works!

Its frusterating to use coupons at Shoppers because then you get fewer points back.

I buy expensive stuff there that is expensive everywhere else most likely ..like face care products by brands that are on the high end side. That helps me reach the dollar levels for points.

Easy to spend for my wants but not as much for my needs. Usually once a month I can target this threshold!

Not sure what you mean by that. Shoppers is my FAVOURITE place to use coupons, as I get free points on my coupons! And when I do a redemption, my coupons help cover my tax and deposits.
For example: 20x wub $50. Coupons count towards your $50 and you still get points on them.Even FPC's count toward totals now.

i find the same issue... i don't need a new camera or any electronic.. limited space so we don't need summer beach tables i don't wear alot of make up so i can't spend it on that.. i don't think i've ever made a $50 purchase at shoppers it's pushing it to hit $30 for me, sometimes hard to get up to $20 and that's including the 6pk's of pepsi and milk! so spending them can be hard too.. right now they just sit there lol
When life hands you Edward Cullen...throw him back and demand Eric Northman....
